  • Patent number: 8922199
Abstract: A method and system for magnetic measurement of elongation of a fastener includes a means for providing a magnetic field gradient along an axis of the fastener, such as one or more permanent magnets. A magnetic sensor is mounted in the fastener in the magnetic field gradient. Magnetic field measurements taken by the magnetic sensor are dependent on a length of the fastener and are sufficiently sensitive to monitor loading during a service life of the fastener. The fastener may be equipped with a signal reader and a data interface for offloading measurement values.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2012
Date of Patent: December 30, 2014
    Assignee: Austin R&D, Inc.
Inventors: Reed Lackland McConnell, Jamie Parker Lamb, Jr., Gregory John Young

  • Patent number: 7360710
Abstract: A stored-value card includes a first housing member, a second housing member, and an account identifier. The first housing member defines a chamber, and the second housing member defines a cavity. The second housing member is coupled with the first housing member to place the chamber and the cavity in communication with each other and to enclose the chamber and the cavity between the first housing member and the second housing member. The first housing member and the second housing member collectively define a housing. The account identifier is coupled with the housing, is machine readable, and is adapted to link the stored-value card to a financial account or a financial record. Financial transaction cards, methods of promoting sales of stored-value cards, methods of using a stored-value card and other embodiments are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 2007
Date of Patent: April 22, 2008
    Assignee: Target Brands, Inc.
Inventors: Kim O. Lindahl, Jamie Parker, Erin M. Borkowski, Tim D. Schumann, Primoz Samardzija
  • Patent number: 7316357
Abstract: A stored-value card includes a housing and a bubble wand. The housing includes an account identifier adapted to link the stored-value card to a financial account or a financial record. The bubble wand is enclosed within the housing and is configured to transition from a first position within the housing to a second position outside of the housing. Stored-value card assemblies, methods of promoting sales of stored-value cards, methods of using a stored-value card and other embodiments are also disclosed.
