    Abstract: Process and apparatus for the biological purification of waste water containing nitrogen compounds. This purification is effected in one or more steps, in the last of which the waste water is denitrified, while additional BOD is added to this step. The supply of BOD to this step is controlled automatically through the continuous analysis of the nitrite-plus-nitrate content in either this step or the discharge from this step.
