  • Patent number: 11060763
Abstract: The present disclosure relate to a controller system and method for use in storage-style water heating systems that offers significant opportunities for energy saving. The controller system can adjust the water heating system in response to energy demand patterns of user fixtures. The controller system can detect quantity of heated water usage and produce a heated water usage profile. The controller system can determine the quantity or volume of the used heated water without a mechanical flow meter. The controller system can include a cost-effective, accurate, and easy-to-install water temperature sensors that provide measurements of the differentials between water temperatures without direct contact with the water. The water temperature sensors can be cost-effective and easy-to-install sensors that are attached to the water pipes through a strap or other attachment methods.

  • Patent number: 9709447
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for thermal energy metering by measuring the average temperature of fluid in a tank, such as a hot water storage tank. Average temperature is measured with an elongated temperature sensor wire that can span the vertical height of the tank. The sensor wire can be protected with a waterproofing jacket. The sensor wire can be coupled to a second substantially parallel wire. A processing unit measures temperature from changes in the resistance of the sensor wire and measures rates of change to allow the system to distinguish different sources of heat increase and/or decrease.

  • Patent number: 4929408
Abstract: Electroweldable pipe sockets and fittings by forming a first tube being internally sized and cooled and on the outer side provided with a groove, having preferably a raised edge part, winding an electrical conductor in the groove, and the outer side of the first tube with electrical conductor is coated with plastics thereby maintaining the internal size of the first tube by internal cooling and sizing. In this continuous process the speeds of the first tube and of the continuous tube leaving the coating extrusion stage are equal. In the coating extrusion stage a negative pressure is maintained between the first tube and the coating to be applied.
