    Abstract: An electronic circuit contains a driver circuit (12) with an output coupled to a digital communication conductor (14), for driving changes of a potential at the digital communication conductor (14) to and from a digital signal level. The driver circuit (12) comprises a control circuit (120), to generate selection signals that select increasingly stronger drive strengths and increasingly weaker drive strengths during changes to and from the digital level respectively. A controllable current supply circuit (122, 124), has a current control input coupled to the control circuit (120) for receiving the selection signals and a current supply output coupled to the digital communication conductor (14). A detector circuit (126) has an input coupled to the digital communication conductor (14) and an output coupled to the control circuit (120), and arranged to detect whether a potential at the digital communication conductor (12) has reached a required range.

    Abstract: Line driver for a LIN-bus. The line driver has a current source output transistor (T1) for pulling down the LIN-bus wire (LB) to ground (GND). The LIN-bus wire (LB) is connected to a positive supply voltage (VBAT) through a pull-up resistor (R1). The output transistor (T1) is driven by a driver stage (DRV) in response to an input current (J1) at an input node (X). The driver stage has a further resistor (R2) connected between the gate of the output transistor (T1) and a reference terminal (GND), a reference transistor (T2) which has its source connected to the reference terminal (GND) and its drain coupled to the input node (X); the gates of the output transistor (T1) and the reference transistor (T2) are connected to an output (DAO1) of a differential amplifier (DA1) which has an inverting input (DAN1) coupled to a bias voltage source (E2) and a non-inverting input (DAP1) coupled to the input node (X).

According to the LIN-bus specifications the resistance of the pull-up resistor may vary between 500 Ohm and 1 kOhm. When the resistance is 1 kOhm, the output voltage is clamped to signal ground (GND) and a delay occurs between the edge in the data signal (TXD) and the corresponding rising ramp in the output voltage.

    Abstract: A steel cord (1) for the reinforcement of rubber articles such as tires includes a core of two to four steel filaments (2) and a layer of steel filaments (3, 4) around the core. All of the filaments have a diameter between 0.15 and 0.40 mm and are twisted in the same direction and at the same pitch. The cord has over a substantial portion of its entire length cross-sections where the accumulated gaps between adjacent layer filaments are at least 0.03 mm. At least one filament of the layer has been preformed differently from the other filaments. The above structure avoids core migration.
