  • Patent number: 9375746
Abstract: Paint booths for applying paint to an object, as well as methods for degrading coating operations associated with a paint booth, are disclosed. Paint booth may generally include one or more robot rails positioned parallel to the path of the conveyor, and one or more robots positioned on at least one of the rails. Robots may be configured to simultaneously apply a first paint layer to the interior and exterior surfaces of the object. Paint booths may further include one or more additional robots positioned on at least one of the rails and configured to simultaneously apply a second paint layer to the interior and exterior surfaces of the object.

  • Patent number: 8544409
Abstract: A coating zone comprises a conveyor for transporting an application object. At least one guide rail extends through the coating zone adjacent the conveyor, arranged above the conveyor at a height at least at the level of the top of the object. At least one robot may move along the conveyor on the guide rail, the robot having a first axis for joint rotation of at least one moving member of the robot in relation to a main body guided along the guide rail. A load-bearing structure supports the at least one guide rail, the load-bearing structure including at least one load-bearing pillar extending substantially vertically downwards from the level of the guide rail. The guide rail and the main body of the robot are arranged in such a way that the first axis of the robot is inclined relative to a vertical plane parallel to the conveying direction.

  • Patent number: 8015938
Abstract: Coating zones having guide elevated rails for coating and/or handling robots are disclosed. The coating zones may include walk-in control areas positioned one above the other on the outside of the side walls. In the upper control area, in which control and supply devices for robots on elevated guide rails may be provided, the side wall may generally slant inward. Load-bearing structures for the elevated guide rails may be braced by supporting members extending generally perpendicular to the line of conveyance of the application objects on or under the floor level or at the ceiling.

  • Publication number: 20100251963
Abstract: In a painting booth (1) for the series coating of application objects, such as vehicle bodies (2) or the add-on parts thereof, painting and/or handling robots (11) are moveable on guide rails (10) arranged above the conveyor (3) of the objects (2) and in particular arranged approximately level with their upper side or thereabove. According to a first aspect of the invention, the guide rail (10) and the basic body (51) of the robot (11), which basic body is guided by the guide rail, are arranged in such a manner that the first axis (A1) of the robot is inclined in relation to the vertical plane which is parallel to the conveying direction. According to a second aspect of the invention, the guide rail (10) is arranged at an inclination or tiltably with respect to a vertical plane which is parallel to the conveying direction.
