  • Publication number: 20220370723
Abstract: Add-on device for a drug delivery pen device, comprising a drive member adapted for coupling to a dose dial member of the pen device, a dial member adapted to rotate the drive member in first and second directions to set/adjust a pen dose, a release member axially moveable to actuate a pen device release button, a linear-to-rotational converter mechanism adapted to convert axial movement of the release member to rotational movement of the drive member in a first direction, whereby, when the add-on device is mounted on the drug delivery pen device: the dose dial member of the pen device is biased in the first direction by the drive member thereby taking up rotational slack in the pen device.

  • Patent number: 10512730
Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston washer (109, 209) for use in a drug delivery device for transferring a distally directed axial force from a piston rod (107, 207) towards a piston (199, 299) of a held cartridge (189, 289). The piston washer (109, 209) defines a proximal surface portion (109a) adapted for engagement with the distal portion of a piston rod (107, 207) and a distal surface portion (109b) configured to engage and abut a piston (199, 299). An axial distance defining device (19a1, 109b1, 109c, 209c) is positioned between the proximal surface portion (109a) and the distal surface portion (109b), wherein the axial distance defining device (19a1, 109b1, 109c, 209c) is configured to be shifted from a first axial compressible state into a second axial non-compressible state. The invention further relates to a drug delivery device incorporating such piston washer (109, 209).

  • Patent number: 9592336
Abstract: A medical device is provided comprising a transcutaneous device unit and a reservoir unit. The transcutaneous device unit comprises a transcutaneous device for transporting a fluid through a skin portion of a subject, and a mounting surface adapted for application to the skin of the subject. The reservoir unit comprises a reservoir adapted to contain a fluid drug, the reservoir comprising an outlet means allowing the transcutaneous device to be arranged in fluid communication with an interior of the reservoir, and an expelling assembly for expelling a fluid drug out of the reservoir and through the skin of the subject via the transcutaneous device. The transcutaneous device unit and the reservoir unit further comprise coupling means allowing the reservoir unit to be secured to the transcutaneous device unit in the situation of use. By this arrangement a two-unit system is provided which can be used in a convenient and cost-effective manner.

  • Patent number: 9399094
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly comprising a skin-mountable device with a mounting surface, the device being arranged in a packaging releasably attached to the device and having an opening through which the device can be moved when detached from the packaging. The device and the packaging comprises cooperating attachment structure, whereby the attachment structure allows the packaging to be moved in parallel with a skin surface for a predetermined distance when a force in parallel with the skin is applied to the packaging in the first direction, yet prevents movement of the packaging away from the general plane. The attachment structure between the packaging and the skin-mountable device, allows the packaging to be used as a handling tool to place the device on a skin surface, the attachment structure preventing that the device inadvertently falls out during handling, yet allows for easy and safe removal.

  • Publication number: 20090163874
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly comprising a skin-mountable device (10) with an adhesive mounting surface (31), the device being arranged in a packaging (20) comprising an opening with a surrounding portion and being closed with a seal member (40) releasably attached to the surrounding portion (22), thereby providing a closed space for the device. The seal member has an inner surface releasably attached to the adhesive, the seal member being penetratable by a sterilizing gas, wherein the inner surface is partially coated with a material (42, 44) allowing the seal member to be peeled from the adhesive, yet allows the sterilizing gas to penetrate the seal member. In this way a seal member is provided which to a high degree has two desirable properties: being gas penetratable yet allows the seal member to be peeled from the adhesive surface.

  • Patent number: 6508788
Abstract: A medication delivery device comprising a container containing a fluid medicament. The medicament is expelled from the container by moving forward an elastomeric piston inside the cartridge. The piston is moved forward by a telescopic piston rod, which can either be centrally located in the container or eccentric located. One end of the telescopic piston rod abuts the elastomeric piston either by itself or through an additional plate. The abutment having a friction large enough to prevent a lower part of the telescopic rod from rotating. In order to prevent the elastomeric piston from rotating inside the container a second telescopic piston rod is provided parallel with the first telescopic piston rod.
