    Abstract: A threaded pipe joint including an externally threaded male section and an internally threaded female section having mutually engageable threads the corresponding roots and crests of which define a helical path through which fluids from said pipe section may leak. The threaded area of one of the pipe sections is provided with a radially disposed blind recess in which is placed a seal plug of extrudable generally nonresilient material.
