  • Patent number: 7448279
Abstract: A device for testing material properties with regard to combined tensile and shear loads, in particular for testing adhesives, includes a device for applying the force, a measuring device, a test piece receptacle, and a test piece having a bonding surface. The test piece is dimensionally stable within the intended limits of the force to be applied. This measure ensures that the shear forces acting on the joint act approximately at a right angle to the bonding surface over the entire test period, so that realistic conclusions may be drawn with regard to the material properties of the tested adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20070080179
Abstract: A metering unit for metering a substance, in particular a powder, comprising a storage container for storing the substance and a metering device rotatable about an axis of rotation, a discharge opening being provided for discharging the metered substance, is described as fulfilling higher demands of metering accuracy in comparison with the related art. This is achieved by the fact that at least one closing element is provided on the lowest end section of the metering device for completely closing the discharge opening.

  • Patent number: 7191917
Abstract: A metering device or a metering element, in particular for metering substances in the compiling of combinatory material libraries, described as comprising a metering element having a supply vessel, open on one side, for holding the substances to be metered, and a plunger, which is axially displaceable and reversibly seals the opening of the supply vessel and which has at least one, preferably centered metering orifice for metering the substances provided in the supply vessel, the supply vessel and/or the plunger having an accommodation as contact point for a mechanical gripping device. Moreover, a metering method is described.

  • Publication number: 20060117869
Abstract: A method for metering powders as well as a powder metering device are described which are used in particular for preparing combinatorial material libraries. The powder metering device includes a metering element having a tubular supply vessel open on one end for taking up the powder to be metered and a plunger which is axially movable and which reversibly closes the end of the tubular supply vessel opposite the opening. To take up the powder, the opening of the metering element is first plunged with a predetermined force into a loose fill of the powder to be metered previously charged in a metering receiver.
