  • Patent number: 5782267
Abstract: An 2-position/3-way solenoid valve for an anti-lock brake system utilizing a modulator block as a component of the valve is disclosed. A valve housing is provided with only a first port, one of three pathways formed in the modulator block is communicated with the first port, and the others thereof serve as second and third ports. One end of the valve housing is closed by a cover, and an inlet nozzle is fitted at the other end thereof with a push rod inserted in a nozzle hole of the inlet nozzle. The push rod is fixed to an armature included within a first chamber which is defined by the inlet nozzle and the cover. The first chamber is communicated with the first port. A spool is integrally formed to the push rod and is positioned in a second chamber, which is defined by the inlet nozzle and an outlet nozzle mounted on the third port of the modulator block, to close one of the inlet and outlet nozzles. A method for fabricating the valve is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5685337
Abstract: A 2-position 3-way solenoid valve is disclosed having a hinged structure. The solenoid valve includes a hollow cylindrical housing and first and second covers hermetically coupled to both ends of the housing. The first cover has first and third ports, and the housing has a second port. A diaphragm divides an inner chamber within the housing into first and second chambers, and the first to third ports are communicated with the first chamber. The second chamber contains an armature, a solenoid assembly and a core, and the armature is fixed to a push rod which extends to the first chamber through a diaphragm hole. A first spool for opening/closing the first port is provided to an end of the push rod within the first chamber. A step is provided to coupling portion of the first spool and the push rod by the difference of their diameters, and a valve lever extends perpendicularly to the push rod to engage with the step.

  • Patent number: 5567023
Abstract: A 3-position 3-way solenoid valve for an anti-lock brake system simplifies a structure of a modulator block and has an excellent assemblage with the modulator block. The solenoid valve has a first chamber communicated with an inlet port and outlet port and a second chamber communicated with the first chamber via a barrier-wall hole in a barrier wall, in which the first chamber includes an inlet valve for opening/closing the inlet port, an outlet valve for opening/closing a through hole, a plunger, a first spring between the inlet valve and plunger, a second spring between the plunger and outlet valve and a cylinder having one end connected to the outlet valve no accommodate the inlet valve, and a second chamber communicated with an exhaust port includes an armature. One end of a push rod is fixed to the armature and extends to the first chamber via the barrier-wall hole and thruhole in the outlet valve, and other end thereof is coupled to the plunger.
