Publication number: 20200372461Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems receive an indication that an order associated with a user account is ready for pickup. One or more messages to a user device associated with the user account are transmitted in response to the received indication that the order is ready. The one or more messages include identification of the order as being ready for pickup, a pickup location for the order, and a threshold distance from the pickup location for the order. Location data is received at a limited interval from a user device while the user device is outside of the threshold distance from the pickup location. Location data is received at a more frequent interval than the limited interval while the user device is within the threshold distance. The location data is transmitted to a local pickup device to trigger an alert when the user device is approaching the pickup location.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2020Publication date: November 26, 2020Inventors: Seejo K. Pylappan, Jaron I. Waldman

Patent number: 10062051Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems receive a browsing request to view an item offered by a first third party retailer. An estimated inventory value for the item at the first third-party retailer is retrieved. The estimated inventory value is maintained using a combination of a history of purchases of the item and a history of inventory values for the item received from one or more third party retailers. A representation of the item as being available for purchase is transmitted to a user device based upon the estimated inventory value for the item. In response to receiving a request to initiate a purchase of the item, a request for a current inventory value for the item is transmitted to a retail server. The purchase of the item is initiated in response to determining the item is available based upon the received current inventory value.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2014Date of Patent: August 28, 2018Assignee: CURBSIDE, INC.Inventors: Jaron I. Waldman, Lik Harry Chen, Denis Laprise

Patent number: 9582932Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a roof analysis tool for constructing a parameter set, where the parameter set is derived from mapping data for a map region, and where the parameter set describes the roofs for the buildings within the map region. In some cases, the parameter set includes a list of roof type identification values and the respective buildings in the map region for which a given roof type identification value corresponds. The roof analysis tool may operate on a server and work in conjunction with a mobile device, where the mobile device may display map views of a map region such that the map view is based on a three-dimensional model of the map region, and where a portion of the three-dimensional model is based on data generated on the mobile device and a portion of the three-dimensional model is based on data generated on the server.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2012Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Rudolph van der Merwe, Jan Erik Solem, Jaron I. Waldman, John W. Kassebaum, Samuel G. Noble, Xiaqing Wu, Yang Liu

Patent number: 9429435Abstract: An interactive capability enables a user to dynamically adjust the content of an electronic map. Different modes can be chosen to emphasize features relevant to a particular interest, e.g. commuting, tourism, weather, etc. Combinations of modes can be selected to create a customized map. When a search is conducted, the chosen mode functions as a filter for the retrieved results. The map responds to user input directed to a given feature, to display information relevant to that feature. Tapping or clicking on a highway displays the locations of services along the highway. Touching two points on the map causes available routes between them to be computed and displayed to the user, along with relevant data for each route. Geospatial applications can be integrated with the map to provide information pertaining to the area displayed on the map, and to refine search results to those that are relevant to the area.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2013Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Christopher Blumenberg, Jaron I. Waldman, Marcel van Os, Richard J. Williamson
