    Abstract: A socket drive adapter comprised of a shank on one end adapted to be received by a drill chuck and a square socket driver on its other end. The driver includes a ball detent that, by maneuvering a spring biased trigger mechanism, will releaseably secure a socket over the driver and prevent axial movement therebetween. Provision is also made to apply torque to the adapter by means of a hand held wrench.
