  • Patent number: 6332659
Abstract: A modular cabinet includes a plurality of modular wall panels that interlock with one another via tubular connector assemblies. Each tubular connector assembly has a female tubular member attached to a modular panel and a male tubular member attached to an adjacent modular wall panel. The tubular connector assembly joins the modular panel and the adjacent modular panel to form a corner of the modular cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6273426
Abstract: A hydrodynamic seal efficiently protects an interior cavity of an enclosure from external elements. The seal has an upper portion having a recess formed in a center section of the upper portion. A lower portion, having a raised portion, abuts the upper portion and forms a passage between the two portions. The passage between the upper and lower portions is reduced in area along the recessed and raised portions. When air with water and/or dust passes through the passage, a velocity and pressure change occurs, thereby the water and/or dust is deposited in a channel. The water and/or dust flows along the channel and is exhausted to an external so that the water and/or dust is prevented from entering the interior cavity of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 6196869
Abstract: In a mounting bracket for a connector block of the type having an elongated wall and a plurality of spaced fingers extending therefrom, each of the fingers has a portion shaped to support the connector block. An insulation is provided along at least one surface of one or more of the fingers and a conductor is supported in spaced relation to the fingers upon or within the insulation. The conductor has an exposed contact at, below, or generally proximate the portion of the finger which supports the connector block. Also, the bracket may be used with a connector block of the type including a body and at least one end cap supported on the body. The end cap houses a plurality of terminals with conductive contacts extending therefrom into the body. A conductive power bus including a rail, a plurality of fingers, and a leaf-spring tail is coupled to the connector block, with the power bus positioned clear of electrical contact with the terminals or the conductive contacts.

  • Patent number: 6161765
Abstract: A protective enclosure for housing heat-generating electronics, having a sorption device for controlling humidity and a heater for heating the sorption device. The invention protects electronics placed within the enclosure from the effects of water vapor and condensation during normal operation and in the event of power loss. The sorption device adsorbs water vapor during normal operation or power loss when the temperature in the enclosure falls below the dew point. The sorption device releases collected water as water vapor when power is restored and the temperature in the enclosure rises above the dew point. The invention thereby prevents failure of the electronics due to condensation build-up and provides for effective long-term use of the sorption device.

  • Patent number: 6093041
Abstract: In a connector block of the type including a body and at least one end cap supported on the body, the end cap housing a plurality of terminals with conductive contacts extending therefrom into the body. A conductive power bus including a rail, a plurality of fingers and a leaf-spring tail is coupled to the connector block, with the power bus positioned clear of electrical contact with the terminals or the conductive contacts. The power bus rail is seated within the connector block between the body and the end cap. The power bus fingers extend within the body from the rail and are positioned between the conductive contacts. The power bus leaf-spring tail extends external of the body. The connector block can cooperate with a suitably configured mounting bracket having a power bus and plural fingers which terminate in electrical contacts to transfer power therebetween to energize subsystems such as protector circuits that may be coupled to the connector block.
