Patent number: 11815907Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a path of a bale wrapping machine are disclosed. The systems and methods encompass automatically controlling a path traveled by a bale wrapping machine along a selected route as wrapped bales are deposited on the ground. The bale wrapping machine may use geospatial positioning information to control a steering system of the bale wrapping machine in order to track the selected route.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2021Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Jason C. Publication number: 20230341586Abstract: A method of mapping a moisture level of a cut crop in a field includes identifying a cut time at which the cut crop was cut in the field. Elevation data, soil data, and weather data of the field are retrieved. A soil moisture map is then created to define a respective soil moisture level of the soil for each of a plurality of elevation zones in the field. The soil moisture map is based on a cut time, the elevation data, the soil data, and the weather data. A crop moisture map is then created to define a crop moisture level of the cut crop in each of the plurality of elevation zones in the field. The crop moisture map is based on the soil moisture map. By using the soil moisture map, the crop moisture map correlates the elevation data to the moisture levels of the cut crop.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2022Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: Sameer Subhash Upasani, Kedarnath Rugge, JASON C. Patent number: 11134614Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus includes management of a net wrap cycle of a cylindrical bale in a baling chamber of a round baler. The baler includes a crop supply assembly that passes crop material into the baling chamber and a net wrap unit. An electronic controller determines a net wrapping condition of the bale in the baling chamber in response to operation of the crop supply assembly, initiates a net wrap start event to dispense a first portion of a net wrap material from the net wrap unit in response to the net wrapping condition being less than a full bale condition, and disengages a component from the crop supply assembly to stop operation of the crop supply assembly when the bale has satisfied the full bale condition. The net wrapping condition includes a diameter growth rate measurement being greater than a net wrap initiation threshold.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2018Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Jason C. Eubanks, Daniel E. Derscheid

Patent number: 10462964Abstract: A mounted mower coupled to a hitch of a work machine that has an output, the mounted mower comprising a sub-frame having one or more hitch couplers selectively coupled to the hitch of the work machine. The mounted mower also has a mower arm with a first end and a second end, the first end being pivotally coupled to the sub-frame. The mower arm is pivotable about the first end between a first position and a second position relative to the sub-frame. The mower arm has a mower head mechanically coupled to the mower arm at the second end. The mower head has at least one disc pivotally coupled to the mower head, the at least one disc able to rotate about a disc pivot axis defined by the respective disc. Further, at least one disc may change the direction the disc rotates between the first and second position.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2015Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventor: Jason C Eubanks

Patent number: 10440895Abstract: A system and a method for moving wrap material in a baler are described. A motor can be secured to the baler and can be configured to rotate a wrap roller of the baler. The motor can be caused to rotate the wrap roller in a first direction, such that the wrap roller moves the wrap material towards a crop package contained by the baler. The motor can also be caused, during application of the wrap material to the crop package, to brake the wrap roller relative to the first roller direction or to rotate the wrap roller in a second direction that is opposite the first direction, in order to stretch the wrap material.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2015Date of Patent: October 15, 2019Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Jason C. Eubanks, Gerald Shook
