  • Patent number: 9726170
Abstract: This document provides mechanical seals that include one or more rolling diaphragms. In one example embodiment, this document provides double rolling diaphragm seals that are usable in conjunction with various types of equipment including, but not limited to, accelerated life testing systems. In such a context, the double rolling diaphragm seals facilitate high-speed linear modulation of a variable volume pressure vessel, while maintaining precise volumetric control. Such an arrangement can facilitate an essentially frictionless linear actuation system having a long stroke, long service life, and precise volumetric control. In addition, this document provides linear actuator systems that can be used in adverse environmental conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160032950
Abstract: A mechanical clamping device can include at least two contact faces, a first of the contact faces configured to travel in response to an applied force, each contact face configured to contact a sample when loaded into the mechanical clamping device. The device can further include a load element configured to cause the two contact faces to apply a clamping force to the sample when loaded into the mechanical clamping device.

  • Patent number: 7546775
Abstract: A tool for multi-axis mechanical testing of medical implant devices includes a plurality of pins arranged to form a contacting surface with a sample holder. The pins maintain rolling contact with the sample holder during a bending phase of a fatigue cycle and reduce the effects of friction and localized differential strain on the sample holder.
