  • Publication number: 20240174050
Abstract: A defrost airflow assembly for a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) case, having a defrost channel starting in a mixing chamber and terminating in a defrost outlet with a defrost door, a demist channel starting in the mixing chamber and terminating in a demist outlet with a demist door, and a bypass channel connected directly with the pre-door defrost channel, the post-door defrost channel, the pre-door demist channel and post-door demist channel. The first bypass channel is configured to allow airflow from the mixing chamber to the defrost outlet when the defrost door is in the closed position and the demist door is in the open position.

  • Publication number: 20230408138
Abstract: A HVAC unit includes a housing, at least one flap and an actuator corresponding to the flap. The housing includes a first and a second portion and defining an enclosure “E”. The flap is received inside the housing with a first extreme end thereof engaging with the first portion and a second extreme end thereof engaging with the second portion of the housing via an intermediate lever. The actuator disposed outside the enclosure “E” is connected to and drives the flap via the intermediate lever. The intermediate lever includes a stopper radially extending from at least a portion of a periphery thereof. The stopper is disposed between the second portion of the housing and the flap to limit axial movement of the intermediate lever.

  • Patent number: 11746791
Abstract: A method for servicing a blower motor installed in a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) assembly for a motor vehicle may include rotating a scroll housing subassembly of the HVAC assembly from an installed position to an extraction position. The method may include detaching a first securing element, the first securing element being distributed on the scroll housing subassembly and an evaporator housing subassembly of the HVAC assembly. The method may include removing the scroll housing subassembly from the HVAC assembly in a direction of extraction. The method may include that the scroll housing subassembly reaches the extraction position by axial rotation in a direction orthogonal to the direction of extraction. The method may include that the extraction position is a position at which the scroll housing subassembly is cleared for moving in the direction of extraction.

  • Patent number: 10370882
Abstract: An injection molded housing includes a first piece, a second piece, and a wall defined by the first piece removably joined to the second piece by a joint at abutting surfaces of the first piece and the second piece. A central catch is integrally molded with the first piece, protruding from the wall. A latch is integrally molded with the second piece, and connected to the second piece first and second living hinges. A half-knuckle is integrally molded with the second piece, protruding from the wall. A hinge pin is fixedly attached to the latch. The latch is bendable at the living hinges to align the hinge pin with the half-knuckle. The latch is rotatable about the hinge pin to engage the central catch and selectably prevent the first piece from being disengaged from the second piece.
