Patent number: 11913275Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to a gate having a frame that can fold and collapse into a compact profile for purposes of storage and travel. In an embodiment, a gate consistent with the present disclosure includes a plurality of frame members coupled together via hinged couplers. The hinged couplers provide an in-use configuration whereby the frame members occupy substantially the same plane and form a picture-frame/rectangular shape. Preferably, a foldable material such as mesh at least partially surrounds each frame member and extends between the frame members to form a sidewall. The hinged couplers include at least a first hinged coupler configured to allow for out-of-plane rotation about a first axis to fold the frame members relative to each other in a clamshell fashion, and at least a second hinged coupler to allow for in-plane rotation about a second axis to collapse the frame members.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: BABY DELIGHT, INC.Inventors: Steve Torosian, Mark Adamowicz, Jason Macari

Patent number: 7454804Abstract: A bed guard assembly includes a one or more end panels, a spanner, connectors and an extension. The spanner is placed against the top or bottom surface a mattress. The connectors connect the spanner to the end panels such that one end panel opposes another end panel across the mattress when the spanner is disposed against the surface of the mattress. The extension is removably attached to one of the connectors and extends from the connector at a substantially right angle with respect to the spanner.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2005Date of Patent: November 25, 2008Assignee: Summer Infant Inc.Inventors: Jason Macari, Steve Gibree

Patent number: 7385521Abstract: A tamper indication device includes a first component, a second component, and an alarm device. The alarm device indicates relative displacement of the first component and the second component. The alarm device includes an alarm circuit that detects the relative displacement and generates an alarm signal, and an alarm indicator that receives the alarm signal and generates an alarm indication.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2005Date of Patent: June 10, 2008Assignee: Ideaz, LLCInventor: Jason Macari

Patent number: 7150053Abstract: A bed guard assembly includes a number of end panels, flexible connecting material for placement beneath a mattress, and connection pieces. The connection pieces connect the flexible connecting material to the end panels such that at least one end panel opposes another end panel when the flexible connecting material is disposed beneath a mattress. The end panel includes a rigid frame, a substantially horizontal rigid segment spanning an interior of the outer frame, and a fabric cover. The connection pieces are adjustable, and include a mechanism for pulling taut the connecting material.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2005Date of Patent: December 19, 2006Assignee: Summer Infant, Inc.Inventor: Jason Macari

Publication number: 20060250268Abstract: A parameter value indication apparatus for a parameter measuring device includes an input port, a comparator, and a parameter value indicator. The input port receives parameter value information. The comparator compares the parameter value information with a stored threshold value and generates a first comparison result if the parameter value information is below the stored threshold value and a second comparison result if the parameter value information is above the stored threshold value. For example, the threshold can cover a range from a minimum threshold value of the parameter to a maximum threshold value of the parameter. The parameter value indicator provides a non-quantitative indication of the first and second comparison results.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2005Publication date: November 9, 2006Inventors: Jason Macari, Steven Gibree

Patent number: 5924242Abstract: A safety gate for use in obstructing doorways, passageways and similar openings to restrict the movement of children. The safety gate includes a panel that can be readily secured in and removed from the opening by extending and retracting a bumper mounted on an outer rail of the panel. The bumper is biased to the extended position in a first direction by a spring that is moved in a second direction transverse to the first direction. The gate can include a pair of extendable bumpers and a pair of springs that independently bias the bumpers to the extended position when moved in the transverse second direction relative to the bumpers. The spring can be a leaf spring having one end attached to a drive member, which can be moved in the first direction, and an opposite end that is slidably supported on a surface of the drive member.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1996Date of Patent: July 20, 1999Assignee: Safety 1st, Inc.Inventors: Jason Macari, Brian H.
