  • Patent number: 5972808
Abstract: A fibrous structure comprising a fibrous matrix with surrogate particles fixed to the fibrous matrix, is provided. Functionally active, fine particles are immobilized on the fixed surrogate particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 30, 1997
Date of Patent: October 26, 1999
    Assignee: AQF Technologies LLC
Inventors: H. Gunter Groeger, Jason R. Malone
  • Patent number: 5952092
Abstract: A fibrous structure comprising a fibrous matrix with immobilized surrogate particles, is provided. A labile active substance is selectively deposited on the immobilized surrogate particles. In one embodiment, the surrogate particles are porous and have surface cavities, and the labile active substance is deposited in the pores and surface cavities. In another embodiment, the labile active substance is in attractive association with or attached to the surrogate particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 30, 1997
Date of Patent: September 14, 1999
    Assignee: AQF Technologies LLC
Inventors: H. Gunter Groeger, Jason R. Malone
  • Patent number: 5297342
Abstract: Synthetic fiber safety cutting scissors comprising a pair of first and second elongated scissor blades, each having an inner side and an outer side and a continuous cutting edge, a plurality of non-cutting protrusions part of the blade, and a gripping means; and a means for pivotally securing said first and second scissor blades to each other with said inner sides facing towards each other such that the said cutting edges cooperate with each other to cut strands of synthetic fiber. It has been found that with the protrusions that foreign objects such as fingers may be prevented from being intersected at the cutting edge.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 1992
Date of Patent: March 29, 1994
    Assignee: Hoechst Celanese Corporation
    Inventor: Jason R. Malone
  • Patent number: 5195245
Abstract: Synthetic fiber safety cutting scissors comprising a pair of first and second elongated scissor blades, each having an inner side and an outer side and a plurality of cutting edges separated by a plurality of non-cutting protrusions, and a gripping means; and a means for pivotally securing said first and second scissor blades to each other with said inner sides facing towards each other such that the said cutting edges cooperate with each other to cut strands of synthetic fiber. It has been found that with the protrusions that foreign objects such as fingers may be prevented from being intersected at the cutting edge.
