  • Publication number: 20240133099
Abstract: A dryer appliance includes a cabinet; a drum rotatably mounted within the cabinet, the drum defining a chamber for receipt of articles for drying; and a controller provided within the cabinet and operably connected with the drum, the controller including a wireless communication module, wherein the controller is configured to perform a drying operation. The drying operation includes obtaining one or more washer operating parameters from a washing machine appliance pertaining to a washing cycle; selecting a base drying cycle time from a plurality of base drying cycle times, each base drying cycle time of the plurality of base drying cycle times corresponding to a different combination of obtained washer operating parameters; calculating an initial cycle time estimate using the selected base drying cycle time; and initiating a drying cycle according to the initial cycle time estimate, initiating the drying cycle comprising displaying the initial cycle time estimate.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a carrying bag is disclosed which includes a one or more security panel assemblies comprising a first flexible material layer and a polymeric fiber matrix, such as a polymer fiber-based cut-resistant fabric, matrix or mesh. Various carrying straps are disclosed which include a first flexible fabric or webbing; and a second flexible fabric or webbing comprising a polymeric fiber matrix. Additional polymeric fibers, filaments, cables, threads or yarns may be included in the security panel assemblies and straps, such as cut-resistant monofilament and multifilament fibers comprised of a polyethylene such as ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMAWPE), high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE), or High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE), for example.

  • Publication number: 20170024983
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed that use information from a distributed, sensor-based network to decide if unwanted tampering is occurring within a utility infrastructure and how to respond. The system and method receive data from sensors located in embedded devices on the edge of the network (i.e., edge devices) and process the data to identify the presence or absence of indicators. A factor graph is generated and. updated with the indicators, along with historical incident and user-defined data, and relationships between the sensors. Based upon the factor graph, the system and method determine what events are occurring at edge devices and decide whether the events are tamper events caused by unwanted tampering. Enforcement programs are used to appropriately mitigate the tamper events.

  • Patent number: 7566265
Abstract: A ridge seal assembly has a first molded unit having a flat nailing portion and a portion to conform to pan and cap areas of roof tiles, the nailing portion and the cover portion are contiguous and may have openings. The nailing portion has a first straight edge away from the tile-cover portion. A second like unit has openings that do not align with the openings in the first portion. The first and second molded units are joined along the first and second straight edges of the nailing portions, and spaced apart along the opposite edges, such that in an orientation to place over roof tiles and nail to the ridge beam, the first unit is above the second unit.

  • Patent number: 6810627
Abstract: A ridge seal molding having a length and width has a nailing flange with one straight edge to engage a ridge beam, the nailing potion for nailing the molding to the ridge beam, providing thereby a continuous contact along at least the one straight edge the length of the molding to the ridge beam, and a cover section formed generally at an angle to and contiguous with the nailing portion and having an undulating shape of adjacent cap and pan portions in the direction of the length to match the undulating shape of adjacent tiles along a front edge, the cover section having a sealing edge of an undulating shape opposite the one straight edge of the nailing potion.

  • Patent number: 6415559
Abstract: An eave closure for tile roofing has a nailing flange having a surface extending along a length of the closure, a planar riser potion contiguous with the nailing flange at an angle to the surface of the nailing flange, the riser portion conforming on an upper edge to the shape of the underside of adjacent installed tiles, and a lip reinforcement along the shaped upper edge of the riser portion, the lip extending substantially at a right angle to the plane of the riser portion. In some embodiments the nailing flange has weep passages formed along a width of the flange, such that air may circulate between inside and outside an installed closure. In some of these embodiments the weep passages are grooves formed in the width of the nailing flange and following a center line, with at least one change in direction across the width of the nailing flange. In preferred embodiments the material for molding is a UV-resistance polymer material.

  • Patent number: 6243995
Abstract: An eave closure for tile roofing has a nailing flange with a surface extending along a full length of the closure, and a riser portion contiguous with the nailing flange at substantially a right angle to the surface of the nailing flange, the riser portion shaped on an upper edge to conform to the shape of the underside of adjacent installed tiles. The riser portion has molded reinforcing grooves adding vertical strength to the eave closure to provide adequate strength to combat permanent deformation in use. In some cases weep passages are also provided, and the weep passages may have at least one change in direction to foil wind-driven rain. In some embodiments a second enclosure is provided to be installed with the first, to hide the reinforcing grooves. In another embodiment an injection-molded closure is provided with angled reinforcements.
