  • Patent number: 10866061
Abstract: A multi-axis firearm foregrip which is highly adjustable and which enables a firearm to be held or supported in a position which is ergonomic for the user or appropriate for use of the firearm. The foregrip may be rapidly adjusted to a selected one of many different positions as deemed appropriate by the user to enable optimal use of the firearm. The foregrip comprises a mount, a handle and a joint. The mount may be engageable to the firearm, for example to a rail system of the firearm. The handle is adjacent to the mount. The joint engages the handle to the mount and allows for handle movement relative to the mount. In embodiments, the foregrip utilizes a ball-and-socket joint which enables swiveling movement of the handle relative to the mount providing a wide range of handle adjustment before the handle is held at the selected position by the foregrip.

  • Patent number: 10852765
Abstract: A portable information handling system rotationally couples housing portions with a hinge having an adjustable friction device that adjusts a torque resisting rotation of the housing portions between alternate settings by sending an electronic pulse to an electropermanent magnet. For instance, activation of a magnetic field pulls a lever that compresses compression discs coupled to a hinge axle to increase torque, such as to hold the housing portions in position. An electronic pulse deactivates the magnetic field when an end user desires to rotate the housing portions, such as may be indicated by an end user touch at a housing portion.

  • Patent number: 10846284
Abstract: A data analysis platform may be based on database views. A build module may receive, from a source code repository, information about a modified definition of a view. The build module may identify schema objects on which the view depends and form instructions for creating the view and the schema objects. The instructions may be executed to form the updated version of the view in a schema space separate from a production schema space. A deployment pipeline may coordinate replacing the production version of the view with the new version in response to validating the new version of the view.

  • Publication number: 20200367191
Abstract: One aspect is a network system including a network sewer and a plurality of gateway hosts coupled to the network server and each including a sectorized antenna and defining a plurality of gateway areas. An overlapping gateway grid includes the plurality gateway areas, each gateway area including sectors. The network system includes a plurality of endpoints, each sending and receiving 10 communication signals to and from at least two gateway hosts, and each comprising an oscillator calibrated with a clocking frequency. The network server determines the location of a target endpoint by sending communication signals between two selected sectorized antennas and the target endpoint to determine one sector from each of the two selected sectorized antennas in which the target endpoint is located, 15 and by calculating the time-of-flight for the communication signal to travel between each of the selected sectorized antennas and the target endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20200359820
Abstract: Package-receiving-lockers (PRLs) may have a collapsible-locker portion and door-attachment-structure. PRLs may exist in a substantially collapsed configuration for storing the given PRL or for otherwise minimizing a footprint of the given PRL; and these PRLs may exist in a substantially deployed (expanded) configuration for acting as a secure object storage location. Regardless of configuration (deployed or collapsed), PRLs may be removably attached to side-hinged-doors with the door-attachment-structure, in such a way so as not to impair operation of the given door. The PRLs may have various electronics for facilitating access (e.g., locking and unlocking the collapsible-locker), delivery confirmation, and mitigating theft. These electronics, along with specialized software, may allow an intended recipient (e.g., a buyer), a shipper/delivery person (or shipping/deliver robot), and/or a seller/vendor to access the PRL in a controlled and documented manner.

  • Patent number: 10837274
Abstract: A sensor arrangement using an optical fiber and methodologies for performing an analysis of a subterranean formation, such as a subterranean formation containing a hydrocarbon based fluid. The sensor arrangement may be used to measure one or more physical parameters, such as temperature and/or pressure, at a multiplicity of locations in the subterranean reservoir. The sensor arrangement may comprise a sensor array comprising an elongated outer casing for insertion in the subterranean formation and into a fluid in the subterranean formation. The sensor array may comprise an optical fiber defining an optical path that links one or more temperature sensors and one or more pressure sensors and transports measurement data generated by the temperature and pressure sensors. A data processing system may be connected to the sensor array to receive measurements from the sensor array and to compute one or more values of a property of an extraction installation operating on the subterranean formation.

  • Patent number: 10788899
Abstract: A keyboard translates key inputs to a touchscreen display disposed under the keyboard with the keys biased away from the touchscreen display by an elastic material that engages with the touchscreen display. The elastic material couples the keys to a lattice held within a frame and having a height of less than the frame. The keys extend to an input position if the lattice presses against the touchscreen display, such as by being held in place with magnetic attraction. The keys retract to within the lattice if the lattice is raised relative to the touchscreen display, the elastic material biasing the lattice upward away from the touchscreen display.

  • Patent number: 10774753
Abstract: Systems and methods for indirect monitoring of combustor dynamics in a gas turbine engine include collecting vibration data acquired by a vibration sensor, which is mounted proximate to an operational component positioned relative to a combustor of a gas turbine engine. The vibration data can be transformed into a frequency domain representation at periodic intervals. The relative signal strength of the vibration data can be determined over the one or more identified frequency bands. The relative signal strength can be adjusted with hysteresis at each of the one or more identified frequency bands. Occurrence of a combustor dynamics event at one or more specific resonant frequencies can be determined based at least in part on evaluation of the adjusted relative signal strength relative to one or more event detection threshold levels.

  • Patent number: 10768368
Abstract: Conventional approaches to integrating waveguides within standard electronic processes typically involve using a dielectric layer, such as polysilicon, single-crystalline silicon, or silicon nitride, within the in-foundry process or depositing and patterning a dielectric layer in the backend as a post-foundry process. In the present approach, the back-end of the silicon handle is etched away after in-foundry processing to expose voids or trenches defined using standard in-foundry processing (e.g., complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) processing). Depositing dielectric material into a void or trench yields an optical waveguide integrated within the front-end of the wafer. For example, a shallow trench isolation (STI) layer formed in-foundry may serve as a high-resolution patterning waveguide template in a damascene process within the front end of a die or wafer.

  • Patent number: 10764860
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software can be used to monitor resource access. In some aspect, an electronic device determines that an application attempts to access a resource on the electronic device. The electronic device determines whether the application is operating in a foreground of an operating system (OS) on the electronic device or in a background of the OS on the electronic device. If the application is operating in the foreground, the application is permitted to access the resource. If the application is operating in the background, a notification is generated to indicate that a background application attempts to access a resource.

  • Patent number: 10754395
Abstract: A portable information handling system rotationally couples first and second housing portions with a multi-axis hinge and disposes a flexible display over the first and second housing portions supported by a first sliding support over the first housing portion and a second sliding support over the second housing portion. An actuator interfaced with the multi-axis hinge translates hinge axis rotation into lateral movement of the sliding supports to adjust sliding support positions relative to flexible display positions as the flexible display folds around the hinge inner circumference.

  • Publication number: 20200250782
Abstract: A candidate is enrolled for continuous background check monitoring where a computing system continually electronically monitors data sources that include background check data for data of the candidate for any changes or updates for the candidate, until the candidate is no longer enrolled. If a record is received, an identity matching process is performed to determine the probability the record belongs to the candidate. If the probability is below a threshold or manual review is desired, the system automatically triggers a manual review of the record to determine if it belongs to the candidate. If the system determines the record belongs to the candidate, a verification of the data may be triggered including triggering a county records search using the record as a pointer. The county records search may have more complete information. The system receives the results and automatically generates a report and transmits a notification of the report.
