  • Publication number: 20240136895
Abstract: A method for repairing an electric generator having a rotor that rotates about a vertical axis, the rotor including a spider having a number of spider arms extending radially away from the axis, and a rim surrounding the spider. The weight of the rim is normally carried at least in part by rim support ledges of the spider arms. The method for repair includes supporting the rim from the top of the spider and thereby relieving some or all of the weight of the rim being supported by the rim support ledges.

  • Publication number: 20220278595
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for repair and upgrade of the connection between a winding and a wye ring of a rotating electric machine. The system generally includes a flexible connector having an elongated curved central region. A first end of the flexible connector may be connected to the winding by brazing and a second end of the flexible connector may be connected to the wye ring as a brazed puzzle or dovetail joint. The system may further include a wye ring assembly specifically configured to provide attachment for the flexible connectors.
