In one exemplary embodiment, the architecture includes a router and operating mode switch (108) coupled to an RF transceiver (112), a packet stack (102) coupled to the RF transceiver, a circuit stack (104) coupled to the router and operating mode switch and to the packet stack, the RF transceiver, and to the circuit stack coupled to the packet stack, and an interoperability entity (106) coupled to the router and operating mode switch and to the packet and circuit stacks.
