  • Patent number: 11959040
Abstract: Disclosed are solvency enhancer compositions, for example, as additives to lubricating oils and as formulated in lubricating oil compositions and associated methods of preparation and use thereof. The compositions and methods can dissolve at least one of oxidation products and other organic polar compounds, due to lubricant degradation, formed and suspended in oil compositions including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oils, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols. Further described are methods for dissolving organic deposits in an oil system including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oil system, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols. Also provided are methods for preventing sludge and varnish formation in in-service oils including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oils, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols.

  • Publication number: 20170121632
Abstract: Systems and methods for varnish abatement and removal from in-service fluids and components of an industrial lubricated system. The systems and methods may include adding an effective amount of a solubility enhancer to the in-service fluid, and contacting the mixture with a medium having acrylamide or styrenic functionality to remove contaminants from the mixture. Systems may include a medium circuit having a medium pump and a medium component and a solubility enhancer reservoir arranged to dispense solubility enhancer to the reservoir. Methods may include pre-conditioning the in-service fluid before adding solubility enhancer.

  • Patent number: 9571086
Abstract: A bi-directional switch that includes a first terminal, a second terminal, and a plurality of ballast circuits is provided. Each ballast circuit includes a first metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) comprising a first input connector, a first output connector, a first body, and a first body diode, and a second MOSFET comprising a second input connector, a second output connector, a second body, and a second body diode. Each first input connector is coupled to the first terminal, each second input connector is coupled to the second terminal, and each first output connector is coupled only to the second output connector of the second MOSFET that is in a same ballast circuit.
