  • Patent number: 5018324
Abstract: A prefabricated panel for use in assembling swimming pools of the type employing a flexible liner for containing the water. The panel has a reinforcing frame on the back with pivotally mounted deck support members which can be moved out to support a deck on the swimming pool. A plurality of panels can be joined together in a closed configuration forming the sides of the swimming pool and with the bounded area forming the bottom. The pool liner is held along its top edge by a pool liner bead holder fastened along the edge of the assembled panels.A decorative tile holder is supported about the upper edge of the swimming pool by the pool liner bead holder. The lower edge of the decorative tile holder is held against the side of the pool by a second pool liner bead which is inserted into and held by a channel along the lower edge of the decorative tile holder. The second pool liner bead depends from a flap of material on the pool liner and prevents water from moving behind the decorative tile holder.

  • Patent number: 4343118
Abstract: The specification discloses a removable swimming pool comprising a plurality of side wall panels and deck panels, a flexible liner, and a facing member, which is connected between the deck and side wall panels, and extends around the inside marginal edge of the pool. The facing member depends from the deck panels to a point disposed normally adjacent to the water line of the pool, and overlies an upper portion of the liner to alleviate deterioration and damage thereto. A plurality of braces are provided to support the deck panels thereon and simultaneously anchor the side wall panels in the ground.

  • Patent number: 4333186
Abstract: The specification discloses a removable swimming pool construction having a plurality of prefabricated side and deck panels which are supported on adjustable frame members, and are installed in a manner which imparts to the pool the appearance of a permanent pool construction. The deck panels are interconnected by rods which extend longitudinally under the deck panels through end flanges thereof, and include a tightening mechanism to align and draw the panels securely together. The deck panels include a tortuously extending water passageway therethrough which communicates with the water in the pool. A pump flows the pool water through the passageway, such that solar heat collected in the deck is transferred to the water, thereby heating the same and simultaneously cooling the deck surface. A flexible pool cover is mounted in one end of the pool, and is wound on a rotatable drum for extending and retracting the same over the surface of the water.

  • Patent number: 4267142
Abstract: The specification discloses an apparatus and method for molding glass fiber reinforced polyester resin articles. A bladder-covered male mold is in turn covered with resin and reinforcement and a female mold with a surface forming film located therein or with a smooth surface is then closed over the male mold. With the bladder held against the male mold by vacuum, air is evacuated from between the bladder and the female mold. The vacuum between the bladder and the male mold is then released whereby the bladder is forced against the resin to thereby force it against the film which is located within the female mold or against the mold surface. This insures a molded article with a bubble free surface. Where a film is used, this insures a tight air free bond between the resin and the film.

  • Patent number: 4205499
Abstract: The specification discloses a pool wall and deck assembly in which a plurality of deck support beams are secured in brackets located towards the top of molded plastic pool wall sections. Brace beams are joined to the deck support beams at a point spaced from the wall section and extend downwardly therefrom back towards the wall sections. One end of each brace beam abuts the bottom flange and the exterior surface of the wall sections and is pinned to the bottom flange thereof and to the earth there beneath.

  • Patent number: 4203170
Abstract: The specification discloses a plastic pool wall having a groove in its face which includes an embedded metal channel for receiving the bead of a plastic pool liner. The metal channel includes spaced upper and lower walls joined by a base wall, with the upper wall terminating short of the plastic pool wall face. As a result, the upper surface of the groove is defined in part by the metal upper wall of the metal channel and by the plastic of the pool wall. Consequently, when the plastic liner bead is placed in the metal channel and the groove grouted, grout seals between the plastic pool liner and the plastic of the pool wall.

  • Patent number: 3975782
Abstract: A swimming pool construction employing a plurality of prefabricated wall panels for forming the sidewall of the pool, and a flexible liner attached to the sidewall and positioned over a floor of soil, such as sand. The liner attaches to the sidewall adjacent the lower end thereof so as to be totally disposed below the water level. The sidewall has a horizontal channel-like retaining member fixed adjacent the lower edge thereof, which retaining member opens outwardly for communication with the pool. The sidewall also has a narrow horizontally extending groove formed therein closely adjacent but spaced upwardly from the retaining member. The liner has a bead secured adjacent the free edge thereof, which bead is retained within the retaining member to maintain the liner in proper position when the pool is filled with water. The liner has a sheetlike flap which projects upwardly above the bead and has the edge thereof positioned within the groove.
