  • Publication number: 20050232781
Abstract: A sealed compressor assembly has a compressor and a housing enclosing the compressor. The housing for the compressor has a receiver and a memory unit. The receiver receives a first signal, which is stored on a memory unit on the housing.

  • Publication number: 20050232798
Abstract: A scroll compressor has a sealed housing. Within the sealed housing is a first scroll member having a first base and a first generally spiral wrap extending form the first base. A second scroll member has a second base and a second generally spiral wrap extending from the base. The wraps of the first and second scroll members interfit to define compression chambers. A motor drives the second scroll member to orbit relative to the first scroll member. A valve controls the communication of gas between the compression chambers and a discharge pressure chamber. The valve is retained within a valve chamber of the first scroll member. A valve retainer is used to keep the valve within the valve chamber. The valve retainer is attached to the first scroll member by a snap fit connection.

  • Patent number: 5931249
Abstract: A kinetic energy storage system utilizes a flywheel with a motor generator to store energy. A flywheel rotor is located in an elongate housing which forms at least part of a rigid framework. In use on a vehicle, the framework provides a chassis for the vehicle and the vehicle may be powered from the flywheel. The flywheel rotates at high speed in a vacuum and the motor generator could be an inverted switched reluctance motor generator optionally providing a magnetic bearing function.
