    Abstract: A lost circulation composition includes at least one viscoelastic surfactant that can self-assemble into entangled worm-like micellar structures, increasing the viscosity of the composition at low shear rates. The entanglements of the worm micelles can be reduced at high shear rates, but can be regenerated when the shear rates are reduced. The viscosifying micelle behavior is present at temperatures above 100° C. and regardless of salinity.
