  • Patent number: 5842284
Abstract: A tape measure including a casing defining an enclosure with a front wall having a blade aperture adjacent a bottom wall. A rule blade is normally retractably stored in a coiled condition within the enclosure having an inner end thereof secured within the enclosure and an outer end protruding through the blade apreture. Graduated indicia markings are positioned along the length of the rule blade functioning as a measuring scale. A lock and automatic rewind switch are carried on the front wall keeping a portion of the rule blade in an extended locked until the switch is manually operated retracting the rule blade into the enclosure. An end hook is attached to the outer end of the rule blade and is adapted to be normally laid over an edge of a flat item to be measured. A device is positioned on the end hook for stabilizing a marking/cutting tool allowing the marking/cutting tool to be grasped for making a mark, score/cut line across the flat item.

  • Patent number: 5833056
Abstract: A non-spill steady cup holder (10) for beverage containers (12) comprises a panel (14) sized to snugly fit horizontally against an interior surface (16) of a paper bag (18). A facility (20) in the panel (14) is for holding a beverage container (12). When the panel (14) is placed within the paper bag (18), the beverage container (12) will be stabilized, allowing the paper bag (18) to be carried, to prevent the beverage from spilling out of the beverage container (12), wetting the paper bag (18) and losing the beverage from the beverage container (12). In other embodiments, a second beverage container (12) can be held in the panel (14), so that two beverage containers (12) can be carried in a side by side relationship within the paper bag (18). In still other embodiments, solid food can be held in the panel (14), so that a beverage container (12) and the solid food can be carried in a side by side relationship within the paper bag (18).

  • Patent number: 5820533
Abstract: An arm/shoulder exercise walking vest (10) comprising a belt (12) worn about a waist (14) of a person (16). A pair of shoulder straps (18) are secured to the belt (12) and worn on a torso (20) of the person (16). A plurality of rings (22) are provided. A structure (24) is for affixing the rings (22) in spaced apart relationships to the shoulder straps (18) and the belt (12). A plurality of elastic bands (26) of varying resistances are also provided. A facility (28) is for attaching in a removable manner a first end (30) of one elastic band (26) to one of the rings (22). The elastic band (26) can be pulled through any other of the rings (22) and grasped at a second end (32) by a hand (34) to be used by the person (16) for exercising an arm/shoulder (36) while walking.
