Abstract: Methods and systems for indicating a door open in an automotive vehicle are provided. Sensors mounted on the automotive vehicle sense an open door and start a timer. After the timer expires, an indication is sent to one or more user devices about the door being open for a period of time. The indication may be sent by a wireless transmitter to a user device equipped with a wireless receiver. The indication may also be sent by a Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) module to a cellular device. The indication may be one or more of an audio signal, a visual signal, a voice mail, a text message or an alert in a social network site.
