  • Patent number: 11824797
Abstract: At a provider edge (PE) router of PE routers of an Ethernet virtual private network (EVPN) configured to implement a border gateway protocol (BGP): receiving, from a multicast receiver, a multicast join for multicast traffic originated from a multicast source; identifying a next hop PE router for the multicast source; generating an EVPN route to the PE router, the EVPN route including an EVPN instance-route target that identifies the EVPN, and a specifically targeted route target that identifies the next hop PE router and that is configured to override the EVPN instance-route target to cause only the next hop PE router, and not any other of the PE routers, to import the EVPN route, when the EVPN route is advertised across the EVPN to the PE routers; and advertising the EVPN route across the EVPN to the PE routers.

  • Patent number: 11811546
Abstract: A networking environment includes a first node and a second node configured as Ethernet Virtual Private Networking (EVPN) peers on an EVPN subnet that is coupled to a Layer 3 VPN over a core network. The first node receives a first multicast join request from a third node in the core network, the first multicast join request including a source address and multicast group address of a source of a multicast stream. The first node determines that the source address and the multicast group address for the source are behind the EVPN subnet at the second node. The first node sends to the second node, a control plane join request message that includes a receiver identifier that identifies the third node as a receiver of the multicast stream, the receiver identifier enabling the second node to forward the multicast stream directly into the core network to the third node.

  • Patent number: 11796637
Abstract: Systems and methods for fall detection on uneven surfaces utilizing radar are disclosed. For example, an electronic device may receive reflected energy from surfaces in an environment. Corresponding sensor data associated with an object moving on an uneven surface may be utilized to determine a velocity of the object and a height change of the object. When the velocity indicates that the object has stopped moving toward or away from the sensing device, and the height values indicate a sudden decrease in height, a fall event may be detected.

  • Patent number: 11716216
Abstract: In an example method for redundant multicast trees with fast recovery, a protocol independent multicast (PIM) backup designated router (BDR) can receive a request from a host to join a multicast group associated with a source; send to a next hop a PIM join message identifying an address of the PIM BDR and identifying the PIM join message as a backup PIM join; receive, from a PIM router along a path to/from the source, a unicast message sent to the address which identifies a second address associated with the PIM router; store the second address and a route associated with the unicast message; in response to a designated router migration trigger, set to blocking a backup multicast tree state associated with the source and multicast group; and send, to the PIM router, a unicast message including instructions to set to blocking a backup multicast tree state at the PIM router.

  • Patent number: 11398070
Abstract: Systems and methods for boundary approximation utilizing radar are disclosed. For example, a heatmap of an environment may be generated utilizing data from reflected energy received at a device. The heatmap may be utilized to generate a point cloud representing the environment, where points of the point cloud indicate rates of change of energy intensity associated with surfaces in the environment. The points may be utilized to determine a mean line indicating an approximated distance between a portion of the environment, such as a wall, and the device.

  • Patent number: 10938590
Abstract: A first network device joins a redundancy group of a multihomed network element that is connected to a computing device. The first network device detects an active link between the first network device and the computing device, and receives from the computing device, a subscription to a multicast flow. The first network device adds the subscription to a first list of active multicast subscriptions stored on the first network device. The first network device sends a unicast notification to a second network device of the multihomed network element. The unicast notification causes the subscription to be added to a second list of active multicast subscriptions stored on the second network device.

  • Patent number: 10826831
Abstract: A method including receiving, at a first router of a plurality of routers, a first message from the plurality of routers. The first message includes a designated router priority and a weight for each respective router. Based on the designated router priorities, a designated router is elected and a one or more eligible group designated routers are determined. The method determines whether the first router is the designated router or the at least one eligible group designated router. If the first router is the designated router, the first router provides a second message to the remaining routers indicating the eligible group designated routers and their weights.

  • Patent number: 10530858
Abstract: A computer system comprises a memory to store instructions and a processor to: generate a list comprising a first entry including an identifier of a first mesh device and a number of neighboring devices that are reachable by the first mesh device over a single-hop path, and a second entry including an identifier of a second mesh device and a number of neighboring devices that are reachable by the second mesh device over a single-hop path; order the initial list in a descending order of the numbers of neighboring devices; determine a replication factor for the digital content item; identify a subset of entries of the ordered list, wherein a number of entries comprised by the subset is equal to the replication factor; and cause a first copy of the digital content item to be stored on the mesh device referenced by the first entry.

  • Patent number: 9697228
Abstract: A computer implemented method and a secure relational file system (SRFS) for storing and managing data for backup and restore are provided. The SRFS receives data, generates first metadata including file-to-sector mapping information, splits the data into fixed sized data chunks (FSDCs), generates second metadata including logical boundaries used for splitting, creates fixed sized data blocks by prepending the second metadata to the FSDCs, splits each FSDC into variable sized data chunks (VSDCs), generates third metadata including unique identifiers (UIDs) for the VSDCs, creates variable sized data blocks (VSDBs) by prepending the third metadata and the second metadata to each VSDC, identifies unique variable sized data chunks (UVSDCs) of the VSDBs using the UIDs, stores the UVSDCs in chunk files, and stores the first metadata, the second metadata extracted from the VSDBs, and storage locations of the UVSDCs with the third metadata of the UVSDCs and duplicate VSDCs in databases.
