    Abstract: An apparatus and method for a window shutter system are disclosed. A window shutter system (100) is disclosed that includes a plurality of shutter frames (106, 108). Each shutter frame (106, 108) includes a plurality of elongate members (126, 130). Each of these elongate members (126, 130) has two ends, and each end has a receiver (204, 208). The shutter frames (106, 108) also include a plurality of couplers (128, 120, 132, 140). Each coupler (128, 120, 132, 140) has at least two extensions (202, 206) for connecting adjacent elongate members. These extensions (202, 206) are adapted to interlock with the receiver (204, 208) of an associated elongate member (126, 130) such that the elongate members (126, 130) and the couplers (128, 120, 132, 140) cannot rotate relative to one another. In addition to the shutter frames (106, 108), the shutter system (100) also includes at least one hinge (112, 114) that may be used to couple one of the elongate members (126, 130) to a window frame (110).

    Abstract: An absorbent article having a flap and a spacer wherein the flap is positioned in the rear waist portion of the article and forms a pocket. The spacer is positioned proximate the pocket opening and biases the pocket into an open position. The flap may be a laterally extending liquid impermeable flap which is fixedly secured to the article along a seam. The seam, which may be substantially U-shaped, extends between first and second terminal ends. The flap has a free edge which extends between the first and second terminal ends of the seam. The seam and free edge of the flap define the boundaries of a pocket which is formed between the flap and a topsheet of the absorbent article. The pocket has an opening extending between the first and second terminal ends of the seam. The spacer affixed to the article whereby it is disposed between the flap and the topsheet proximate, and optionally extending through, the pocket opening to bias the free edge of the flap away from the topsheet.

    Abstract: An absorbent article with an adhesive flap. The absorbent article has a crotch region, a rear waist region, and a body facing surface positionable adjacent a wearer when the article is in use. The absorbent article includes a backsheet, a liquid permeable topsheet attached to the backsheet, an absorbent structure disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet, and a flap positioned in the rear waist region of the article. The flap has first and second oppositely facing major surfaces wherein the first major surface faces the topsheet and the second major surface forms a portion of the body facing surface of the absorbent article. A substantial portion of the front edge of the flap is a free edge and an adhesive is disposed on the body facing major surface of the flap whereby the adhesive may engage the skin of the wearer when the absorbent article is in use.

The alarm and monitor system comprises one or more video cameras mounted within a vehicle and which are adapted for scanning movement by means of a simple oscillating scanning motor. The video camera is equipped with an emergency alarm device designed to signal the emergency alarm station of an emergency type situation.

Vertical frame member components include a hinged single vertical component for hinged connection of a shutter panel to a window frame, a hinged double vertical component for hinged connection between two panels, and latching vertical components for selective latching of two shutter units together at their mating edges. Frame member components are available in various lengths and are easily adjustable in length for precise user dimensional control.
