  • Publication number: 20100083841
Abstract: A beverage dispensing apparatus comprises a frame and a liquid injector. The frame includes a receiving station for receiving therein a steeped liquid container including a steeping chamber and a securing mechanism displaceable between an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration, the securing mechanism being engaged with the steeped liquid container, received in the receiving station, in the engaged configuration and securing the steeped liquid container in a predetermined position therein and disengaged from the steeped liquid container received in the receiving station in the disengaged configuration. The liquid injector is displaceable between an injection position wherein the liquid injector is inserted through the steeped liquid container into the steeping chamber, secured in the predetermined position in the receiving station and a disengaged position wherein the liquid injector is disengaged from the steeped liquid container.

  • Publication number: 20070250965
Abstract: An impact resistant insert for a protective pad and having a stiffener layer of impact resistant, thermoformable material retaining a preset curve at ambient temperature such as to substantially return to the preset curve upon deformation, the stiffener layer becoming temporarily more flexible under heat such that the preset curve can be modified to a different preset curve with the stiffener layer subsequently maintaining the different preset curve at ambient temperature. Also, an impact resistant insert for a protective pad and having a front layer of flexible material, a stiffener layer of multi-cell material having front and rear surfaces with the front surface being connected to the front layer, the stiffener layer being substantially resistant to impact forces, retaining a preset curve and substantially returning to the preset curve upon deformation, and a rear layer of flexible material connected to the rear surface of the stiffener layer.

  • Patent number: 6708622
Abstract: A rail mounted patient lift comprises a ceiling mountable rail 10, a carriage 16 mounted for displacement along the rail, a flexible elongate support element and power operated lifting means for extending and retracting the support element relative to the carriage. The rail 10 comprises a plurality of rail sections 10a, 10b which in use are suspended from a ceiling with a gap 13 therebetween at a position where the rail 10 is to cross the path of a curtain 14. Each rail section has at least one pivotable flap 19 engageable by the carriage 16 as it moves along the rail. The flap 19 of one of a pair of adjoining rail sections is pivotable by the carriage as it moves in one direction to bridge the gap between the two sections and the flap of the other of the pair of adjoining rail sections is pivotable by the carriage as it moves in an opposite direction to bridge the gap between the two rail sections.
