The mat includes an insulating layer between the floor and a covering layer attached to the insulating layer. The bearing wall includes a storage compartment and an internal face positioned facing an exterior face of the covering layer at installation of the foot rest. The storage compartment extends between the internal face of the bearing face and the exterior face of the covering layer. The storage compartment has a bottom wall fixed permanently to the internal face of the bearing wall by first, and second connecting members and includes housings the content of which is directly accessible without removing the storage compartment.
