  • Patent number: 8026658
Abstract: A display screen, characterized in that the pixels of the image are generated by individual light-emitting capsules, said capsules constituting miniature cathodic tubes cold-cathode and being assembled in a matrix on a least one substrate of supple support, optionally transparent. The material emitting electrons of the capsules may be constituted by carbon nanotubes. The assembly of the capsules may be realized by forced insertion of the prefabricated capsules into a supple support, with or without previously cutting out placements of the capsules in the supports. Assembly of the capsules may likewise be done by moulding the prefabricated capsules in a supple support. Advantageously, the size of the capsules is optimized to ensure optimum matricial assembly of the pixels or correct balance of the non-printing areas, with for example a larger size for the capsules emitting its green light.

  • Publication number: 20090051261
Abstract: Disclosed is a flexible display device, each image point of which comprises one or several cathodoluminescent capsules (11) that are individually sealed and are mounted on a flexible substrate (12, 13) by means of an automated process. The invention relates to the realm of flat screen displays including large-size screens typically having a diameter exceeding one meter. Such screens traditionally comprise a set of image elements or pixels which are organized in a matrix and are addressed by means of a network of conductors arranged in rows and a network of conductors arranged in columns. According to the invention, said display elements represent capsules (11) which constitute miniature cold cathode tubes comprising one capsule for each color point of each pixel, for example. Moreover, said capsules (11) are designed such that they can be assembled in an automatic manner and form a flexible screen without the need for the capsules (11) to be transferred onto a flexible substrate in a complex process.

  • Publication number: 20080211748
Abstract: A display device comprising individual elements wherein the placement, on each element, of an electronic microcircuit capable of recognizing its address among those of other microcircuits connected in parallel to the common addressing electrodes, recording the brightness data sent to its address and modulating the brightness of its display element according to the data received.

  • Patent number: 6433702
Abstract: A touch-sensitive matrix cathode ray tube for inputting and displaying data comprising a plurality of carbon nanotubes defining a plurality of pixels and a plurality of inputting elements, which consists of a dot matrix of each dot comprising a pixel and an inputting element, each pixel made up of ends of at least three mutually parallel nanotubes and each transmitting in one of the three primary colours, the input element being constituted of the end of at least a fourth nanotube.
