Abstract: A process for correcting the input-output correspondence of an analog-to-digital converter includes calculating the equation of the actual input-output correspondence, for known input values, during programmed conversion suspension periods. A comparison with the ideal conversion line subsequently makes it possible to calculate the necessary offset and gain corrections. The process is applied to the digital conversion of a plurality of component video signals.

Abstract: The subject of the present invention is a stabilizer-reamer for drilling an oil well. The invention provides an improvement to drillpipe string stabilizers used when drilling an oil well.The purpose of the stabilizer, which forms the subject of the invention, is to allow the drillpipe string to be raised through fractured formations, in addition to its normal function of stabilizing the drillpipes.To this end, it is fitted with retractable abrasive blades which make it possible to re-drill the fractured formations when the drillpipes are being raised and to avoid jamming in the well.The main claims relate to the novel function of the stabilizer, to the geometry of its elements and to the mechanism of opening the blades.

Abstract: The device for implementation of the invention procedure, a processor (2) is connected by a data bus (12) to a correction memory (3), a measuring circuit (9), and a digital-to-analog converter (4), and an adder circuit is connected to the output of the digital-to-analog converter (4) and to the output of the scanning circuit of the camera, so as to add to the sawtooth signal supplied by the camera the correction values furnished by the correction memory in synchrony with the scanning of the camera. The correction values result from an evaluation of the position error of the centers of the patterns of an optical grid as restored by the camera and of their equivalents in an electronic grid. Intermediate correction values are computed for each pattern by interpolation of the position errors of the centers of the patterns, using a third-order interpolation polynomial. The invention can be used in high-definition television applications.
