The essential oil represents 0.2 to 20% by weight with respect to the total weight of the composition and the ratio by weight of the lipidic phase to the essential oil(s) is between 0.3 and 10.

Abstract: To prepare an aqueous dispersion of lamellar lipid vesicles, at least one lipid is dissolved in at least one water-immiscible organic solvent; the organic phase thus obtained is added to an aqueous phase in such amounts that a dispersion of the oil-in-water type is obtained by vigorous stirring; the evaporation of the solvent(s) is carried out with vigorous stirring, the continuous phase of the dispersion always remaining the aqueous phase; and, should it become necessary, the dispersion is concentrated. The process can be carried out at low temperature (of the order of 35.degree. to 55.degree. C.), which makes it possible to encapsulate in the aqueous phase or to introduce into the vesicle sheets heat-sensitive active substances; the lipid concentration in the organic phase can reach up to 50% by weight.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for the hair contains at least one film forming polymer and at least one silicone incorporated into a support consisting essentially of a wax microdispersion in an aqueous liquid vehicle. The dispersed phase of this vehicle is a stable microdispersion of particles having a size lower than 500 nm. The particles consist essentially of a wax or mixture of waxes having a final melting point greater than 60.degree. C. and lower than 100.degree. C. which is capable of forming a microdispersion as defined above. The composition contains from 0.1 to 40 weight percent of wax and a sufficient amount of at least one emulsifying agent. A process for the cosmetic treatment of the hair involves applying the above-defined composition to the hair.

Abstract: Cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition consisting of a dispersion in a physiologically acceptable aqueous phase D of vesicles of ionic and/or nonionic amphiphilic lipid(s), the vesicles being bounded by one or more lipid lamellae, the lipid lamellae containing at least one retinoid compound and the aqueous dispersion phase a pyrimidine derivative. The said composition may be used by topical application on the hair and scalp.

Abstract: New compositions for the treatment of keratin material, in particular human hair, skin and nails are provided comprising a combination of a cationic polymer with an anionic polymer. Surprisingly the anionic polymer can be retained well on the hair, even after rinsing, when applied with the cationic polymer.

Abstract: The invention relates to a dyeing composition for keratinous fibres containing, in a suitable vehicle, at least one 2-nitro-para-phenylenediamine direct dye, in free or salified form and also at least one xanthine derivative of formula (II) ##STR1## where n=0 or 1, R'.sub.3 =H, R'.sub.1, R'.sub.2, R'.sub.4 and R'.sub.5 are substituents having various significances, the said compound of formula (II) being in free or salified form. They can be used for dyeing hair.
