  • Patent number: 6468491
Abstract: In a technique for eliminating organic pollutants from the passenger compartment of a vehicle by photocatalysis, the upper face of the dashboard is covered with a layer of photocatalyst. This upper wall includes a plurality of orifices providing diffuse ventilation. The lower face of the dashboard also includes a layer of photocatalyst irradiated by a source of ultra-violet rays, the source being in a diffusion chamber.

  • Patent number: 6332759
Abstract: A heating and/or air-conditioning installation with a motor-driven fan unit has a motor driving a turbine, a speed control module and a volute housing the motor and forming an outlet channel for airflow at the periphery of the turbine. The speed control module is mounted at the periphery of the motor and has an electrical connector engaging a connector of the motor. It also has one or more walls of thermally conducting material and in contact with the outlet channel to cool the module.

  • Patent number: 5109755
Abstract: A heating and ventilating apparatus for the cabin or passenger compartment of an automotive vehicle includes a cold air transmission branch and an air heating branch, communicating with each other through a mixing zone and leading respectively to a de-icing port for the windshield of the vehicle, aerators or cabin vents at the level of the fascia panel, and lower outlet ports in the lower part of the cabin. A direct guide duct is arranged with its inlet penetrating partly into the outlet of the air heating branch, and with its outlet opening in the vicinity of the de-icing port, which allows warm air coming from the air heating branch to be mixed with the pre-mixed air coming from the mixing zone.

  • Patent number: 4947735
Abstract: A distribution box for a heating and/or air conditioning apparatus, particularly for an automotive vehicle, includes at least one fresh air inlet duct, air outlet ducts, regulating means for regulating the distribution and the temperature of the air leaving via the outlet ducts, the inlet duct (or each inlet duct) including an entry section connectable to the outlet section of a feed duct for supplying fresh air in a flow direction substantially tangential to the direction of flow of the air in the inlet duct. The distribution box further includes a distribution grid extending across the inlet section of the or each air inlet duct, the distribution grid comprising a multiplicity of vanes placed in a configuration such as to set up air flows which are differentiated from each other in a controlled manner.

  • Patent number: 4577836
Abstract: A flap for a ventilator, heater, or air conditioner installation in particular for the cabin of a motor vehicle, comprises a support plate (12) and at least one block-shaped air-guiding blade (20) mounted on said plate. Said block-shaped blade is constituted by at least two thin walls (22, 24) of plastics material which are made on and fixed to said support plate by molding. At least one of said walls is folded back and fixed to the other wall to obtain a a block-shaped blade having a volume which is greater than the sum of the volumes of said thin walls. This avoids the need to add on a plastic or foam block separately.
