    Abstract: The present invention discloses the use of a polymer chain having at least one carboxylic acid anhydride group as a consistency stabilizer in the base part of a two-part silicone sealant. The base part consists essentially of the consistency stabilizer, 100 parts by weight of a polymeric material having not less than two groups bonded to silicon which are hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups, 5 to 150 parts by weight of filler and, optionally, pigments and/or plasticizers.
