  • Patent number: 4208088
Abstract: A multi-axial objective, comprising a number of adjacently arranged elementary systems which are formed by three spheres, the centers of which are situated on the same line, said systems being symmetrically arranged with respect to the center of the central sphere. The refractive index of the central sphere is larger than the refractive index of the outer spheres. The entrance and the exit of each system are adjoined by windows which form an entrance pupil and an exit pupil, the former being arranged in the center of the entrance sphere, while the latter is arranged in the center of the exit sphere. The windows are proportioned with respect to the diameter of the spheres so that the field of each system overlaps the field of the directly adjoining systems, the field image of the multi-axial objective being uniformly illuminated.

  • Patent number: 4191446
Abstract: A directional coupling device for single multi-mode optical fibers which are disposed coaxially in a transparent body of the coupling device, a suitable space filled with an immersion medium being formed between the end faces of the two fibers; means for introducing light rays and photo-sensitive means for picking up the dispersion flux are respectively arranged on at least one of the ends of the body of the coupling device.

  • Patent number: 4102559
Abstract: Two very thick plano-convex lenses with a common axis are positioned with their convex surfaces facing each other, and a radiation source and the input face of a fiber are each disposed on one of these surfaces in the vicinity of the axis. The main feature of the device resides in the considerable thickness of the lenses relative to the radii of curvature of the dioptric faces. As a result, aberrations, in particular spherical aberrations, are reduced while the dimensions of the device are such as to enable easy construction and handling.

  • Patent number: 3947086
Abstract: A single entrance prism and two symmetrical second prisms divide the radiation from an object into two light paths and angularly correct the rotation of the image planes for a binocular viewing system.
