Abstract: A method of grouting which permits the joining together of two parts by means of a binder and, more particularly, the sealing of one part in another, in particular the sealing of a prosthesis in a bone cavity. The method includes producing in the part to be sealed a channel which passes through the part along an axis substantially parallel to the axis of the introduction of the part to be sealed into the recess formed in the part intended to receive it, and injecting the binder into the channel until the binder fills the space between the part and the wall of the recess. Centering elements can be placed around the part in the space present between the part and the wall of the recess, and a packing part can be positioned, around the part to be sealed, on the opening of the recess. The injection channel made in the part which is to be sealed can be provided with a thread which makes it possible to introduce a threaded rod into it for the extraction of the part.

Abstract: Installation for a blade suture clip for osteological removal for treatment of the inflammation of the knee joint. The instrument consists of a positioning-reduction frame presenting an opening meant to position a piercing block in order to create holes allowing the installation of the blade suture clip. The opening is limited by two proximal edges and two distal edges, and two lateral edges presenting an extension similar to that of the blade suture clip. The proximal part of each of the lateral edges contains superimposed holes to position the positioning reduction frame by means of pins, while the distal edge contains a hole designed for the passage of the proximal bit of a tightening instrument allowing adjustment of compression while the distal bit is introduced in a hole pierced in the tibia under the distal edge of the positioning-reduction frame at a certain distance.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for the preparation of benzo[b]naphthyridines having the general formula (I) ##STR1## comprising: 1) condensation of an amine having the formula R'--NH--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --R" with a chlorofluoroquinoline of formula (II) ##STR2## 2) cyclization of the obtained fluoroquinoline of formula (IV) ##STR3## and; 3) oxidation of tetrahydro-1,2,3,4benzo[b]naphthyridine-1,8 of formula (V) ##STR4## is effected, and then, optionally, the ester obtained is transformed into an acid and optionally into a salt.

Abstract: Device for reinforcing a ligament transplant during reconstructive surgery. The transplant is inserted into a knitted sleeve formed from resorbable yarn, the mesh of which enables said sleeve to be extended in a diamteral direction and includes at one of its ends two loops, which serve to secure said sleeve to one of the insertion points of the transplant. The sleeve can be associated with a tube having an ogival head adapted for sliding into a tractive tube in which the transplant enclosed in the sleeve has been previously placed, the end of the sleeve being passed, by means of a thread-drawing tube, through an opening in the ogival head. The head comprises elastic ribs which can hold onto the body of said tube, the withdrawal of the tractive tube enabling the ribs to be spaced apart and engage the peripheral area of the hole formed in the bone.

Abstract: This invention relates to new derivatives of fluoro quinoline carboxylic-3 acid having general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical and Hal is a halogen atom, as well as salts thereof, when they exist, preparation thereof and utilization as synthesis intermediary.

Abstract: The compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which X is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkyl or cycloalkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and R represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an aralkyl or hydroxyalkyl group in which the alkyl chain has 1 to 4 carbon atoms are disclosed together with processes for their preparation and medicaments containing the compounds. These compounds are hypolipemiants. In addition, some of them are psychostimulants.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a process for agglomerating compressible powders, particles or fibres of mineral substances, said process comprising the steps of placing at least one layer of a steam and gas pervious product on a layer of said compressible substances in which the water content is such that, after vaporization, a sufficient amount of water is still present to ensure the desired chemical reaction, then subjecting the layers to the simultaneous action of pressure and heating.
