  • Patent number: 6234663
Abstract: An appliance comprises a housing containing an electric motor whereof the output shaft is designed for driving a working tool, a switch controlling the motor speed which is actuated by a hand-operated control knob mounted rotating about an axis of rotation to take up an “off” position and several “on” positions, and a device for ejecting the tool capable of being controlled by the knob in its “off” position. The button is also mounted tilting about an axis transverse to its axis of rotation so as to control the actuating of the tool ejecting device. The appliance is particularly applicable to hand-operated electric food mixers.

  • Patent number: 5871278
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a drive motor (7) with a shaft (8) having a front end for engaging a coupling device (20) for a whisk (10), and a rear end for engaging a drive (28) housed in a cylindrical body (31) and engageable by a mixing arm, as well as a vertically movable ejector member (51) linked to the coupling device. A movable mechanical assembly (70) is provided for releasing the ejector member (51) while blocking the internal space (74) in the body (31) so that only the whisk can be fitted, or alternatively locking the ejector member (51) in the down position while unblocking the internal space (74) in the body so that only the mixing arm can be fitted.

  • Patent number: 5803598
Abstract: A hand-held electric beater-mixer comprises a drive motor (7), two coupling devices (20, 28) linked to the motor and engageable by a whisk and a mixing accessory (38) respectively, an electrical switch (71) operated by a button (67) having an "off" position, a number of "continuous on" positions and a "selective on" position, a vertical movable ejector (51), and a mechanical assembly (72) for preventing continuous operation when the mixing accessory is in place. The mechanical assembly comprises a movable member (74) which releases the ejector when the whisk is in place. The ejector has an engagement tab (53) enabling operation of the button when the ejector is in the raised position, and locks the ejector (51) in the lowered position when the mixing accessory is in place. The engagement tab (53) of the ejector locked in the lowered position locks the button (67) on the side corresponding to its "continuous on" positions.

  • Patent number: 5584112
Abstract: A process for the production of a whisk for an electric kitchen beater, comprising a rod (12) having at one of its ends a hub (15) carrying at least two loops (19, 20) each forming an agitator and made from a metallic wire whose ends are secured to the hub, the hub (15) being produced by an over-molding operation by injection of a plastic material onto the rod (12) and onto the two loops (19, 20) adjacent the rod. Before over-molding the hub on the end of the rod and adjacent portions of the loops, the loops are positioned in a mold in planes transverse to the horizontal axis of the rod. Then, after molding, the loops are swung down into their final position in which their sections (19b, 20b) opposite the hub (15) contact each other. At this contact point (P), the loops are secured together as by welding. In this way, a complicated mold for the hub, that would accommodate the loops in their final position, is not necessary.
