Abstract: A device and method for combing eyelashes and/or eyebrows, and/or for applying makeup to eyelashes and/or eyebrows is disclosed. One exemplary device has a support and at least one row of projecting elements on the support. The row has a first group of the projecting elements and a projecting element outside the first group, the projecting element outside of the first group being spaced apart from the first group by a gap. The projecting elements can separate the eyelashes and/or eyebrows, while the gaps can group the eyelashes and/or eyebrows.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an applicator for applying a composition to keratinous fibers, the applicator comprising: a stem; a core that extends along a longitudinal axis; applicator elements carried by the core, the distal end of the applicator being defined by the core or by at least one applicator element; the applicator elements defining an envelope surface; wherein the cross-section of the applicator defined by the envelope surface increases, and then decreases, on going towards the distal end of the core along at least two axes that are perpendicular to each other, and defines a peak ridge of maximum radius rmax that is strictly the greatest radius for the entire envelope surface, the peak ridge being spaced apart from the distal end of the envelope surface by a distance measured along the longitudinal axis that is less than or equal to 1.5 rmax; and the angle formed by the slopes of the envelope surface on either side of the peak ridge in at least one longitudinal section being greater than 120°.

The applicator may include a brush comprising bristles and a core having a rectilinear portion from which the bristles extend, the bristles having free ends that define an envelope surface. The envelope surface may extend along a longitudinal axis that is not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rectilinear portion of the core, and may have at least one cross-section having a shape that is flattened along a mid-plane, the envelope surface defining at least one face that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the core.

Abstract: An applicator used to apply a cosmetic composition to the eyelashes or the eyebrows includes a stem having a distal stem portion extending along a longitudinal axis and further includes a brush extending from the distal stem portion. The brush includes a core supporting bristles. The core extends along a longitudinal axis that is entirely contained within a plane. The core further has a first curve that is concave towards a first side of the core and a second curve, different from the first curve, that is concave towards a second side of the core opposite from the first side of the core. The longitudinal axis of the core crosses the longitudinal axis of the distal stem portion at least once. The core of the brush extends along the longitudinal axis of the core towards a free end of the core without turning back towards the distal stem portion.

Abstract: An applicator for applying a composition to the eyelashes or the eyebrows, the applicator having a brush with a twisted core and including at least two segments. Each segment includes a plurality of bristles having a common diameter associated with the segment, the bristles being held by the twisted core. The common diameter associated with each of the at least two segments increases for each segment towards a distal end of the twisted core.

Abstract: An applicator for applying a product to keratinous material, may include a rod and an application member fixed to one end of the rod. The application member may include a core extending from the rod and being fixed relative to the rod. The application member also may include an outer casing including a fixation zone and an application zone. The outer casing may define an inner cavity in which the core is located, and the outer casing may be fixed to one end of the rod at the fixation zone. The outer casing may be free relative to the core, at least over part of the application zone. In addition, the fixation zone of the outer casing may be fixed to the rod and to the core between portions of the rod and the core.

In some examples, the applicator member may include a twisted support extending along a longitudinal axis and bristles held by the support. The applicator member may define at least one first longitudinally-extending region having a succession of notches configured to be loaded with the substance and at least one second longitudinally-extending region configured to separate eyelashes and/or eyebrows. In some exemplary embodiments, the first region may include at least five notches.
