  • Patent number: 8226138
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for securing rescue operations by helihoisting that comprises three attachments to the helicopter, the lifeguard and the belay tether. A trigger control mechanism includes a mobile pawl pivotally mounted on the hook between a closing position and a release position of the opening, respectively for maintaining the tether in the hook and for releasing the same, and a latch submitted to the action of a polarisation spring for locking the pawl in the closed position in the absence of a tension on the first attachment, and for unlocking the pawl when the force applied on the first attachment exceeds that of the polarisation spring. The assembly is arranged for triggering the automatic release of the belay tether that remained attached when the tensioning by the helicopter traction cable exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for securing rescue operations by helihoisting that comprises three attachment means to the helicopter, the lifeguard and the belay tether. A trigger control mechanism includes a mobile pawl pivotally mounted on the hook between a closing position and a release position of the opening, respectively for maintaining the tether in the hook and for releasing the same, and a latch submitted to the action of a polarization spring for locking said pawl in the closed position in the absence of a tension on the first attachment means, and for unlocking said pawl when the force applied on the first attachment means exceeds that of the polarization spring. The assembly is arranged for triggering the automatic release of the belay tether that remained attached when the tensioning by the helicopter traction cable exceeds a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20090251070
Abstract: The portable electric lamp, for example a headlamp, is a lamp with light-emitting diodes comprising at least two distinct light sources (1a, 1b, 1c) having different emission angles. An electronic control circuit controls each of the light sources independently and comprises a distribution control input to select the percentage of the total power supplied to each of the light sources. Control of the distribution can be continuous or by steps. It is preferably combined with a power control input. The distribution control and power control inputs can be formed by two distinct inputs or by a single power and distribution control input. Selection is preferably performed by means of one or two rotary knobs.

  • Patent number: 5400869
Abstract: A device for ascending along a rope comprises a pair of ascenders and a leg loop in the form of a pedal cooperating with a cord passing over two pulleys to form a tackle device authorizing a gearing down effect of the effort exerted on the leg loop. The effort required for an ascending step corresponds to two thirds of the weight of the climber, whereas the leg travel when moving from the standing position to the sitting position is about one and a half times the distance of an ascending step.
