Abstract: System and method for controlling energy consumption in a data center. An embodiment includes: segregating hot air from cold air by preventing hot air exhausted from hot aisles from flowing into cold aisles; measuring temperature and relative humidity values of the segregated hot and cold air; detecting temperature and relative humidity values of outside air; mixing the segregated hot air with a volume of the outside air, the volume of the outside air depending on a result of the measuring and the detecting; measuring temperature and relative humidity values of the mixed air; comparing the temperature and relative humidity values of the mixed air and the temperature and relative humidity values of the segregated cold air to IT specifications; cooling the mixed air based on a result of the comparison; and providing the cooled mixed air in the cold aisles.

Abstract: A method of securely duplicating in a copying machine a document which includes a readable security device. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: reading the readable security device to determine contents of the readable security device; copying the document; generating a copy of the readable security device that includes data which is determined from the contents of the readable security device; and attaching the copy of the readable security device to the copy of the document before the copy of the document exits the copying machine to generate a secure duplicate of the document.

Abstract: A detector arrangement including an antenna for detecting an object or objects equipped with RFID tags and which has or have fallen from a transport arrangement during conveyance thereon from a first location to a second location. Also provided is a method of detecting and retrieving an object or objects that has or have fallen from a transport arrangement while in transit from a first location towards a second location. A Global Positioning System (GPS) may be provided to assist in retrieving the lost object or objects.
