Abstract: A device which includes a sealed neutron tube, equipped with an alpha particle detector and a gamma radiation detector is placed in a first position. Steps are performed in which neutrons are sent towards an object and in which data provided by the detectors is acquired and processed in order to obtain a three-dimensional mapping of the object. Further, at least one displacement of the device is performed around the object so as to place it in another position, and the steps are repeated wherein, each mapping is geometrically corrected so that it may be updated relative to the set of all mappings, and these mappings are then combined together.
