    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to aluminum alloy conductor composite reinforced for high voltage overhead power lines and associated methods of use and manufacture. In one embodiment, a transmission cable can be provided. The transmission cable can include a core including at least one of: a composite core, a plurality of fibers in a matrix of one or more materials, or a set of carbon fibers embedded in an epoxy matrix; and a plurality of wires wrapped around the core, wherein the wires comprise at least one of the following: aluminum 6201 T83 alloy, aluminum 6201 T81 alloy, aluminum 1350-H19 alloy, or a heat resistant aluminum-zirconium alloy; wherein the transmission cable has a low sag characteristic.
