  • Patent number: 5906461
Abstract: A machine tool includes several telescopic struts, each of which being formed by an inner tube and outer tube arranged within one another. The telescopic struts are articulated at their one end to a frame and at their other end to a tool holder. The outer tube is formed with a plurality of circumferentially spaced recesses, with each of the recesses accommodating a recirculating ball bearing unit which includes a carrier body provided with endless ball tracks. Each endless ball track is divided in a load-bearing section and an unstressed, non-load-bearing return portion. The inner tube has ball tracks, with balls rolling along the ball tracks of the carrier body and the inner tube whereby the balls are guided from the load-bearing section into the return section.

  • Patent number: 5788442
Abstract: In a sealing arrangement for bores (2) in guide rails (1), particularly for linear assemblies, each bore (2) comprises a radially widened end portion (5) for receiving a screw head (4) of a fixing screw (3) and is adapted to be sealed in a plane parallel to an upper surface (10) of the guide rail (1) by a sealing plug (6) having a disc-shaped upper part (8) and a concentric shank (9), said sealing plug (6) extending in a sealing position in the end portion (5) of the bore (2), characterized in that an annular clamping washer (7) comprising a through-slit (11) in radial direction at one circumferential point is arranged in the end portion (5) between the upper part (8) of the sealing plug (6) and the screw head (4), and the shank (9) of the sealing plug (6) is pressed into a bore (12) of the clamping washer (7) whereby, with the help of the clamping washer (7), the sealing plug (6) is fixed in a simple manner in the end portion (5) of the bore (2) which is thus sealed.

  • Patent number: 5672011
Abstract: The invention concerns a rolling bearing for linear movements comprising a carrier which is displaceable along a guide rail and supported on two longitudinal sides of the guide rail on several pairs of rolling element circuits, a one-piece cage being associated with each longitudinal side and each rolling element circuit being comprised of a rectilinear row of load-transmitting rolling elements guided by the cage, a row of returning rolling elements arranged in a return passage in the carrier and two rolling element deflector arches connecting the two said rows at ends thereof, a part of each deflector arch being arranged in the one-piece cage as a continuation of the rectilinear row of rolling elements while another part of the deflector arch is arranged in a head piece disposed on an adjacent end face of the carrier.
