  • Patent number: 8993050
Abstract: Method of manufacturing granulates or continuous strips intended for feeding an extrusion machine, formed of a gel comprising at least, as majority elastomer, a styrene thermoplastic elastomer and more than 200 phr of an extender oil, each element of the granulate having a given surface area. The granulate element is sized so that the compactness, of a granulate element, is less than a value decreasing from 1500 m?1 to 375 m?1 and deposited on the surface of said granulates is an anti-tack agent having a value increasing from 2 cm3 to 8 cm3 per m2 of granulate surface area, when the mean size of the particles of said anti-tack agent increases from a value of 1 ?m to 100 ?m.

  • Patent number: 8463497
Abstract: A method for determining a characteristic quantity representative of grip conditions of a vehicle wheel running on a ground surface involves imposing a given simultaneous steering angle variation on two wheels mounted on the same axle of the vehicle, the steering angle variation being of the same amplitude for the two wheels but in opposite directions, and measuring the characteristic quantity for at least one of the two wheels.

  • Patent number: 8313109
Abstract: A tire for an axle of a private passenger vehicle having two axles. The axle comprises a suspension device for positively controlling the camber of the wheels relative to the ground in the case of transverse acceleration. The tire develops a contact patch on the ground, said contact patch having a length at the left shoulder (Leg), a length at the right shoulder (Led) and a central length (Lc), a contact patch ratio (Rep) being defined by the quotient of the average of the shoulder lengths divided by the central length. The tire contact patch ratio is greater than 0.65.

  • Publication number: 20120053786
Abstract: To determine a characteristic quantity representative of grip conditions of a wheel of a vehicle running on a given ground surface, the following steps are performed: for two wheels mounted on the same axle of the vehicle, imposing a given simultaneous steering angle variation, the steering angle variation being of the same amplitude for the two wheels but in opposite directions; and measuring the characteristic quantity for at least one of the two wheels.

  • Publication number: 20080029193
Abstract: A tire tread comprising a tread pattern composed of a plurality of elements in relief in the form of blocks and/or ribs defined by grooves. A plurality of these elements in relief are provided with at least one incision oriented at an average orientation defined as being the angle between a straight line passing through the ends of the incision on the running surface and the transverse direction of the tread, each incision being limited by walls of rubber mix and comprising at least two portions the average orientations of which, measured relative to the transverse direction, are different from the average orientation of the incision. On at least some of said portions having an orientation different from the average orientation of the incision, there is formed, on at least one of the walls defining the incision, at least one protuberance locally reducing the width of the incision by at least 50% of its greatest width (E).

  • Publication number: 20070169867
Abstract: Presented is a tire that includes a crown, which is extended by two sidewalls and two beads and which includes a carcass ply anchored in the beads. The crown includes at least one reinforcing crown ply that includes parallel cables, which are oriented relative to the circumferential direction by an angle ? of between 10 and 45 degrees. The crown further includes at least one hooping crown ply that includes cables oriented in the circumferential direction, which are wound in a spiral. The hooping crown ply is made of a composite fabric that includes a rubber composition based on at least one diene elastomer which is reinforced by hybrid cables that each have a ratio of final tensile tangent modulus:initial tensile tangent modulus which is greater than 10.
