  • Patent number: 7812952
Abstract: A method for reading slides bearing fluorescent deposits, such as used in serology or molecular biology analysis, includes: incubating a slide with a sample of serum from a patient, or a dilution thereof, and revealing antibodies in the sample bound to the deposits by labelled reagents. Label reading and analysis is performed by a device including a slide positioner, light emitting diodes arranged in illumination channels to provide oblique illumination at different wave lengths, and a collection optic for forming an image of the deposits on a sensor.

  • Patent number: 7354269
Abstract: The invention relates to an electro-optical device for the photo-polymerization of composite material, and is used in particular in the dental field. The inventive device comprises a light source (2) which is defined by an LED or a group of LEDs. It comprises electrical power supply means consisting of a battery (4) which is associated with a direct current/direct current converter device (7) commonly known as a DC/DC converter, passive means (3) for the evacuation of heat, and a central management unit (5) for operating parameters of the light source for the definition of a determined photo-polymerization energy profile.

  • Publication number: 20060139746
Abstract: An optical device (12) includes a front surface located on the side of the sample to be observed and a rear surface oriented towards the elements for acquiring (18, 19) an image or a user. It further includes a combination of four aligned lenses. The lenses are arranged in the following sequence from the front rearwards: a plano-convex lens (28), a convexo-concave lens (30), a plano-concave lens (32) and a biconvex lens (34). The plano-concave (32) and the plano-convex lenses are respectively such that they each have a substantially planar surface and a concave surface or convex surface respectively. The invention is applicable to a cell analyzer.

  • Patent number: 6692250
Abstract: Apparatus for allowing the photoactivation of photosensitive composites used especially in the dental field: A case containing a power supply unit electrically controlled by a central electronic processing unit. A light source connected to the supply unit and which is formed by a plurality of light-emitting diodes. The diodes are associated with a concentrating device making it possible to concentrate in an optimal manner, at a given point, the light emanating from all the emissive areas of the diodes. The concentrating device includes a respective optical fiber associated with each light emitting diode.

  • Patent number: 4713552
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical probe comprising an optical means (5) having a given refractive index. This optical means is able to reflect an incident light beam if it is located in a medium (3), whose refractive index is higher than the given index and is able to reflect the incident light beam if it is in a medium (2), whose index is below the given index. The optical refraction or reflection means (5) is a cone of revolution, the axis (X) thereof being parallel to the incident beam (6) and to the optionally reflected beam (11), the base (12) of said cone receiving the incident light beam and is perpendicular to said incident light beam and to the possibly refracted beam. The cone and at least part of the optical fibres transmitting the incident and reflected light beams are located in a tight box or case. Application to the detection of interfaces of different media and to the determination of the components of a two-phase medium.
