  • Patent number: 8271012
Abstract: In a radio communication system including a plurality of subscriber stations and at least one radio access device, useful information of a group of subscriber stations is transmitted by radio. A number of subscriber stations of the group is located in the radio coverage area of the at least one radio access device. The at least one radio access device notifies the subscriber stations of the number of subscriber stations of the group before the useful information is transmitted, using a radio resource. The notification contains information relating to at least one signal in the transmission of the useful information transmitted via another radio resource.

  • Publication number: 20080200197
Abstract: A data service is provided in which a network-side radio station emits data, which can be received by at least one subscriber's station without a logical connection being set up between the subscriber's station and the network-side radio station. Radio parameters for emitting the data are set according to features of subscriber's stations located within an area assigned to the network-side radio station. The network-side radio station obtains the items of information concerning the subscriber's station located within the area and items of information concerning the features of these subscriber's stations, in particular, from a higher-ranking network unit.

  • Patent number: 7197019
Abstract: A method establishes a connection between a source network with a source network resource manager and a target network with a target network resource manager. According to the method, a connection control unit of the source network transmits a connection establishment signal to a connection control unit of the target network and—parallel to this—a reservation request to the target network resource manager. The target network resource reserves the requested resources and forwards the reservation request towards the target network resource manager, which also reserves the requested resources and transmits reservation information regarding the success of the resource reservations to the connection control unit of the target network.

  • Publication number: 20060258384
Abstract: The present invention proposes a new downlink MBMS Associated Control Channel (MACCH), combining the functionalities of a broadcast channel and of an associated point-to-multipoint control channel, to be transmitted by a base station (BTS) to a user equipment (UE). By referring to specific information contained in the channel the user equipment (UE), establishes a point-to-point connection with the base station (BTS) without interrupting the reception of a broadcast/multicast service (MBMS).

  • Patent number: 7106705
Abstract: For a communication system (e.g. UMTS with CDMA radio interface), the invention draws a distinction between services with high and low data rate dynamics and uses a matched type of signaling for the transport formats currently being used. The data rate of the data for a service can fluctuate greatly and/or rapidly over time (high dynamics), or may fluctuate only a little and/or slowly (low dynamics). The data for the services are transmitted via a common physical channel, with in-band signaling being used for signaling the transport format for the services with high data rate dynamics, and with signaling in a separate channel being used for the services with low data rate dynamics.

  • Patent number: 6944453
Abstract: According to the invention, a reduced set of transport format combinations is signalled to a subscriber station which has established a link to a second radio communication system in a second signalling channel of said second radio communication system. The transport format indicator is then selected from the reduced set of transport format combinations and used to initiate a link transfer to the first signalling channel of a first radio communication system. A full set of transport format combinations is subsequently signalled to the subscriber station in the first signalling channel.

  • Patent number: 6885875
Abstract: According to the invention, transmissions of the second radio station are received in the first radio station in which the operating instruction for transmission power of the second radio station is determined. The operating instruction is transmitted during a following transmission of the first radio station to the second radio station, whereupon the latter takes into account the operating instruction for power regulation during one of its following transmissions. Contrary to prior art, no time invariable or fixed step size is used. An operating instruction is used instead which is related to a variable step size in transmission power regulation. The variable step size is subscriber-dependent and time-dependent regulated by the radio stations.

  • Patent number: 6810023
Abstract: Information is transmitted between a base station and other transceiver stations in a radio communication system within a common frequency channel in the downlink and uplink. At least one switching time is established in this case between the downlink and uplink. These bursts can be configured for the highest possible spectral efficiency in accordance with the rules of mobile radio telephony. However, a burst of shortened duration is transmitted before and/or after the switching time. In TDD transmission systems, this, therefore, prevents the receiving and transmitting operation from overlapping for the switching time due to disadvantageous relative signal propagation times.

  • Publication number: 20040017789
Abstract: Several subscriber stations transmit a respective access sequence to a base station of a radio communications systems on a channel for random access. Afterwards, the radio communications system confirms reception of the access sequences on another channel by a message which selects a subscriber station that can subsequently transmit additional sequences to the base station on a physical access channel.

  • Publication number: 20030117995
Abstract: During the determination of the timing advance (TA), the data is transmitted from the first station (MS) without the timing advance in the form of short radio blocks (B1). After determining the timing advance (TA), the data (D), while taking the timing advance into account, is transmitted from the first station (MS) in the form of long radio blocks (B2) which are longer than the short radio blocks (B1). Both the short radio blocks (B1) as well as the long radio blocks (B2) are transmitted from the first station (MS) in the same channel allocated to the connection.

  • Patent number: 6373825
Abstract: A telecommunication network has an operation and maintenance device and a plurality of network elements each of them having hardware objects. At least one network element communicates state changes to the operation and maintenance device. The operation and maintenance device has a memory device and a processing device. The memory device stores a state dependency graph with objects, states of the objects and operators and a set of rules allocated to the operators. The processing device processes the communicated state changes by applying the rules to the operators of the graph and calculates the new states of all objects that depend on the communicated state change.
