  • Patent number: 7752704
Abstract: The invention relates to a crank (14) which is intended for the windscreen wiper mechanism of a motor vehicle. The inventive crank is of the type that comprises a horizontal body (16) having a first end (14a) which is linked in rotation to a wiper arm and a second end (14b) which is articulated to a connecting rod. The aforementioned body (16) comprises: a segment (22) which can be deformed in order to adjust the distance between the ends (14a, 14b) of the crank (14), and a longitudinal oblong hole (24) which divides the aforementioned segment (22) into two deformable longitudinal branches (26) which are symmetrical in relation to a center line of said segment (22). The invention is characterized in that the oblong hole (24) takes the form of a quadrilateral with two essentially-perpendicular diagonals (E1, E2), the larger diagonal (E1) extending along the main axis (C) of symmetry of the segment (22) and intersecting the small diagonal (E2) at the midpoint thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090199373
Abstract: A fixing apparatus for fixing two radial arms of a drive mechanism of a wiper device to a body shell element configured to be disposed vertically on a motor vehicle has a plug-type cylindrical body configured to be partially inserted into a first opening on the body shell element. The plug-type cylindrical body has a locking mechanism configured to prevent the plug-type cylindrical body from disengaging from the first opening on the body shell element. The locking mechanism has a secondary element connected to the plug-type cylindrical body by a material bridge. The secondary element is configured to be partially inserted into a second opening on the body shell element. The secondary element is configured to be unlocked from a locking position by applying transversal and then longitudinal forces on the secondary element in a longitudinal axis defined by the at least one plug-type cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 7496987
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for adjusting the angular travel of a motor vehicle wiper mechanism, comprising a connecting rod and a crank, wherein the crank includes a body which extends longitudinally in a substantially horizontal plane, which is articulated at one first end about a vertical axis (A), and which is articulated at a second end to the connecting rod, comprising a step which consists in adjusting the angular travel by modifying the distance between the first and the second articulated ends of the crank. The invention is characterized in that the adjusting step consists in modifying the length of a longitudinal section of the body of the crank.

  • Publication number: 20070011839
Abstract: A method is disclosed for assembling a windscreen-wiper mechanism having a support plate on an internal face of a body structure element that extends globally vertically at a rear of a motor vehicle. The method includes the steps of positioning the support plate relative to the internal face of the body structure element and joining the plate to the internal face of the body structure element. The positioning step includes moving the plate relative to the body structure element along a first direction, and the joining step includes rotating the plate about the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5903953
Abstract: A screen wiper element of generally elongate form, which is typically a screen wiper arm, comprises a body defining a longitudinal housing or recess, which is open in the lower face of the wiper element facing towards the swept surface such as a windshield. The longitudinal housing receives a feed pipe for supplying washing liquid to at least one spray device for spraying washing liquid on to the swept surface. The housing defined by the elongate screen wiper element includes a profile in the form of a groove complementary to the profile of the feed pipe.

  • Patent number: 5720072
Abstract: A motor vehicle screen wiper comprising a wiper blade which is applied against a swept surface by means of a wiper arm articulated on a drive head, so as to be driven by the latter in alternate wiping movement over the swept surface, includes a projecting element or lifting tab carried by the wiper arm. When the wiper is in its parked position, this lifting tab cooperates with an engagement face of a ramp which is fixed on the vehicle, so as to displace the wiper arm in such a way that the wiper blade tends to be separated from the swept surface, so as to reduce or eliminate the pressure with which the blade is applied to the swept surface in the parked position of the wiper. The lifting tab is made integral with the wiper arm.

  • Patent number: 5174678
Abstract: A motion transmitting coupling link comprises a metal base element having a flattened end portion having a through hole in which a ball socket is anchored. The ball socket is moulded in position and is made of a plastics material.Radial slits extend outwardly from the edge of the hole, so as to define tongues which are bent out from the plane of the end portion. The invention is especially applicable to use in windshield wiper linkages.
