  • Patent number: 8268544
Abstract: A stamp for patterning onto a receiving surface of an object (101) according to a defined pattern (P) comprises a stamping surface (21) of a resilient diaphragm (20). The stamping surface is planar at rest. The pattern is reproduced on the stamping surface and the diaphragm is affixed to a rigid body (13) along a peripheral edge, so that a middle part of the diaphragm can move along a direction perpendicular to the stamping surface. The diaphragm (20) is more flexible near the peripheral edge than in the middle part. Then, the pattern (P) printed on a pseudo-spherical receiving surface (103) using the stamp exhibits few distortion.

  • Publication number: 20120207968
Abstract: The invention relates to a selective dyeing method used for dyeing a substrate (10), selectively within a first exposed surface portion (S1) of said substrate. For this purpose, the substrate consists of a material (2) that is impervious to a dye with the exception of the first portion of the exposed surface. In particular, the impervious material can form a layer which covers a base portion (3) of the substrate in a second portion (S2) of the exposed surface. The substrate is heated such that the dye (C) penetrates a pervious material (1) which constitutes the first portion of the exposed surface. The method is particularly useful for eliminating light diffused by the walls of a multilayer structure which is supported by means of ocular glass.

  • Publication number: 20120120477
Abstract: A transparent electrochromic system includes a cellular structure, two power supply electrodes together supported on a single wall, and at least one additional electrode. The additional electrode can be used as a reference electrode or as a polarization electrode. • Patent number: 8134782
Abstract: A transparent optical component having cells (1) filled with an optical material is proposed, which has a high transparency. The cells of the component are filled to levels (h1, . . . , h5) which vary randomly, and the variations of which are adapted so as not to cause a perceptible optical defect. To do this, the fill levels of the cells are adapted so that the phase shifts experienced by the light rays (R1, . . . , R5) which pass through the cells have a root mean square deviation of less than one quarter of the wavelength (1). Such a component may in particular be an ophthalmic lens.

  • Publication number: 20110211245
Abstract: The invention relates to a transparent electroactive system that includes two electrodes (2, 3) juxtaposed on the same side of a closed space (12) containing electroactive substances. The two electrodes are separated by a distance of less than 250 ?m, and a barrier (1) extending towards the inside of the closed space is placed between the electrodes. The separation between the electrodes is thus not visible, and a mutual neutralization between the electroactive substances is prevented. Advantageously, the electroactive substances are contained in cells (5) separated from each other within the closed space. The barrier (1) can thus be distinct from separation walls (4) between the cells, or can be assimilated with some intercellular walls.

  • Patent number: 7938536
Abstract: According to a process for manufacturing a series of ophthalmic lenses, each lens consists of a substrate and a film portion (3) attached to the substrate. The characteristics specific to each lens are obtained by functionalizing the film portion. Film functionalization is carried out when the film is in the form of a large planar sheet (2), and then each portion is cut from the sheet. To obtain economic lens manufacture, with a good production yield, the film portions have, right from the start of the process, dimensions corresponding substantially to the housing of a frame into which each lens is intended to be fitted.

  • Publication number: 20110043925
Abstract: A transparent optical component comprises two sets of cells (1) disposed in respective superposed layers (10, 20). Each cell (1) contains an optically active material, and the cells in each set are isolated from one another by separating portions (2) within the corresponding layer. The cells (1) of one layer are offset relative to the cells of the other layer so as to be located in line with the separating portions (2) pertaining to the other layer. Such optical component exhibits transparency that is improved compared with components having a single layer of cells or cells that are superposed.

  • Publication number: 20110013136
Abstract: An electrically controllable optical component (10) comprises a transparent array of cells (3) and two transparent electrodes (5a, 5b) which are parallel and lying opposite each other on either side of the array of cells. Certain of the cells located between the two electrodes contain different electroactive materials, so that said cells exhibit different respective variations in at least one optical quantity in response to an electrical signal applied to the electrodes. An optical function is thus temporarily conferred on the component, resulting from gradients in the optical quantity that are formed parallel to the surface of the component.
